Hosting a Private Dinner for My Fashion Friend | Cacio e Pepe, Steak & Tiramisu
This week’s vlog is a mix of Daily Doc and My Kitchen. Documenting everyday life in NYC while working on another private dinner.
The week starts with me and my friends trying Eurasian food for the first time, followed by a summer night at Coney Island watching the fireworks. I then meet up with some of my culinary school friends to celebrate a few birthdays, which eventually brings me back to Misi, the Italian restaurant where I did my culinary externship.
In between everything, I make time for one of my newer hobbies, archery, before getting back into the kitchen to prepare this week’s My Kitchen private dinner.
This dinner was for a friend I met while working in the fashion industry. We actually met in my office elevator. I wanted to create a menu that felt elevated but still approachable:
🍞 Whipped ricotta toast with hot honey & dried tomatoes
🐟 Tuna crudo with herb oil
🥩 Cacio e pepe with seared steak
🍰 Tiramisu with chai granita
After hosting the dinner, I ended the night by cooking dinner for myself and my sister using some of the leftover ingredients — i made yakisoba.
This episode is a little snapshot of what my life currently looks like: NYC, food, fashion, culinary school friendships, new hobbies, and building My Kitchen one dinner at a time.
I’m continuing to document life after culinary school while figuring out what comes next and exploring food, hospitality, and creative projects along the way.
