Akane Rin’s drip marketing started a debate in the CN community

Akane Rin’s August 24 drip marketing sparked a debate in the CN community. Here’s what people are actually arguing about.

Players noticed the word “STUD” on her shirt patch. In Western slang, “stud” can mean a guy who gets around. It can also mean someone who stands out. Some CN players read it as a jab at the character. Others said it was a design detail or a translation mix-up.

This also got tied to a second issue. After the recent NTE AI controversy, people inspected the new art closely. Some pointed out that Akane’s left hand has no fingernails and called it AI. Others said missing nails are common in anime art.

What do you make of it? Leave a civil take in the comments.
