Lantern stays open late. No, I mean, really late. Like, they stay open early. Like, you could leave Dada at 7:00 AM and, access to caffeine permitting, you could still probably shake it for a few hours at Lantern. There’s usually cover (about 50 RMB) but if you’re showing up in the wee hours, the Lantern staff may be feeling generous. But there’s no reason not to start your night here in the first place. Lantern is about 100 meters north of Workers’ Stadium’s West Gate in Gongti. It’s owned and operated by the good people at Acupuncture Records, a really solid Beijing techno label, who always have their ear to clientele buzz– so the DJs are usually top notch. If you love techno, check out Lantern.
