Lantern is celebrating their birthday and that means you, yes you, are obliged to come out and wish them a happy one to their big, loud, collective face. After all they've done for you! No really, it's 50 RMB and there are just an embarrassment of DJ spoils for a single night. Talking about Elvis T, Huang WeiWei, QQ, XLF, BB Deng, M.in.T., Mickey Zhang, Jackson Lee, Weng Weng, Ou Yang, Juliana Lima and more. While much has changed, Lantern has been through the best and the worst of it churning out the electronic music that we want, need, crave. They've also never shyed away from giving new talent a platform to excel and generally blow us away. See you Friday.
When: 25 Sep 2015 Fri 22:00
Where: Lantern Club
Lantern stays open late. No, I mean, really late. Like, they stay open early. Like, you could leave Dada at 7:00 AM and, access to caffeine permitting, you could still probably shake it for a few hours at Lantern. There’s usually cover (about 50 RMB) but if you’re showing up in the wee hours, the Lantern staff may be feeling generous. But there’s no reason not to start your night here in the first place. Lantern is about 100 meters north of Workers’ Stadium’s West Gate in Gongti. It’s owned and operated by the good people at Acupuncture Records, a really solid Beijing techno label, who always have their ear to clientele buzz– so the DJs are usually top notch. If you love techno, check out Lantern.
