About the show:
The musical “Matsuura Takeshiro ~the Promise with the Ainu~” was made by WARABIZA theater in 2018 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Hokkaido. This story shows the relationship between Takeshiro, who named the land Hokkaido, and the Ainu people, and the great traditional Ainu culture. His story starts when he notices that Ainu people are discriminated against by Japanese people. He tries to work to establish a better relationship with the Ainu people.
