時代に取り残されし志士たちの超ド級のバトルロワイヤル、開幕。
時は明治11年、深夜の京都・天龍寺。主人公・嵯峨愁二郎(岡田准一)をはじめとする292名の志士たちは、各自に配られた木札を奪い合い、東京に辿り着いたものに賞金が与えられる蠱毒〈こどく〉という名のゲームに参加する。血に飢えたような志士たちと不穏な空気に包まれた深夜の天龍寺。そしてゲーム開始の号令と共に、参加者たちの命をかけた戦いが息つく暇もなく展開されていく―。
無意味に生きる愚か者たち。殺し合え、最後のひとりまで。
