little Xbox drama and Xbox needs any publicity like any right at this point just to sell any game
they just need something
so like one of the the founding members her name’s Laura Frier um she had some like controversial I guess take on the on how Xbox is doing basically she’s saying it’s like what what the what the hell are they doing i I have no idea like it’s it’s she’s depressed that like it’s losing its original vision she believes Xbox isn’t doing what it needs to do it’s envisioning like a very bleak future so for example um she literally said and I quote “There is literally no reason to buy this handheld.” And that’s referring to the ROG Ally Xbox ally
uh literally no reason um obviously as one of the founding members this is hard to read while playing this game uh the Xbox team I’m not pleased with where things are today i can’t read and do this i don’t love watching
the wall oh my god i uh I don’t love watching all the value that I helped create for League of Leg i’m sad because of that from my perspective it look like Xbox has no desire um or literally can’t ship hardware anymore so the partnership uh is about a slow exit from the business entirely personally I think Xbox hardware is dead um and to a degree I actually agree with her i I’ve I’ve said for like a year now that Xbox is more interested in being a publisher but they know they can’t Yeah that’s been the direction like it’s not a surprise i feel like once they announced that Xbox games were coming to like PlayStation that was like
right no that was that was the white flag yeah yeah that was to me that was like

well they’re losing the they lost two generations in a row
completely their own fault at least with the first time around i still think the Series X is better than PlayStation 5 but it’s all about the games and etc

um I don’t agree with her her like there’s literally no point in the ROG ally like we’re kind of in this new like portable streaming era or streaming sorry uh gaming era right yeah like people
want portable now yeah right people want to play things portably i want to play portably and I don’t even play things portably like
I like the option of being able to lay in my bed and play games or bring my Switch to your place and we can play games together like it’s

um so like I I don’t agree with her on that point but I do agree with her that like normal traditional Xbox hardware is is dead

yeah i mean there’s just nowhere for them to go and that’s why they’re they’re saying like “Hey we’re partnering we’re partnering exclusively with AMD to like get stuff done and we’re doing this you know portable ally.”

at least there was the portability but Right and like to partner with ASUS and just be like “Oh yeah throw Game Pass on it put an Xbox button on it.” Like that’s super smart like I don’t know i apparent it seems like people are more upset about the fact that she said she thinks Xbox hardware is dead it’s like what are you talking about like they just renounced the like the ROG ally i I think the the way I’m interpreting it is that excuse me is that she means proprietary like made purely by Microsoft Xbox whatever and no other hand that’s how I’m viewing that
well yeah and even like that was the whole point of that like this is an Xbox like ad right is that like we don’t need Xboxes like the system itself anymore right everything has Game Pass on it now like TVs have Game Pass just built in you just need an Xbox controller now
so like it’s like stating the obvious with it like yeah they’re dead the system is dead but like Xbox itself is like fine as a company uh CJ says probably because it’s true PC is the master race farm well here I think of it this way once once Xbox started saying “Hey we’re putting PC we’re putting Game Pass on PC.” That was like just the start and it it made logical sense like hey what you own Microsoft and you’re Microsoft you own Windows like you why not
you know how to make things for this uh operating system or whatever yeah
so like you can do it and then you know with game pass like wait why do we just put our games on everything like why are we we’re selling this console horribly you know we’re at a huge loss no one’s really buying it but people want Game Pass and the games we make so you know what’s
right they’re they’re capable of making games and they’re like capable of doing like these cool things like Game Pass and stuff and getting these like partnerships for it and whatever like just Yeah get it on everything you can like if you can get it on like a PlayStation and Nintendo consoles like do that as well like who cares i I I don’t know i Yeah I just I I think everyone’s kind of mad about just the wrong issue just in terms of uh uh like hardware is dead yeah hardware is dead and
honestly I think PlayStation is in a really awkward position because of that cuz they don’t want to put their games on Xbox in fact they don’t even want to put their games on a PC like they hate it you know they they you wait like a year or two you know they they they do not it just seems like they never want that to happen um they’re like very against it i don’t know why but they’re very against it yeah I I I I couldn’t tell you but I I think Agmar’s making the correct like they they made they made the long play you know they just they they took their time built up Game Pass like okay now we’re going to start moving you know we’re starting portable console out there with the RG Ally the first step we’re going to get Pass stream on TVs like
you know that that makes the most sense and they’re probably just like “Okay why do we even have this device?” It’s like “We don’t we don’t need it
you don’t need it anymore.” You Cuz also too like the Xbox and I I believe the PS5 they always sell those like at a loss it’s not even like they’re like making money on it right like it’s all software that brings in and Game Pass subscription like that’s bringing in the money for them so
right i don’t know to to be like upset and be like “Oh I’ll never own an Xbox again.” Like okay but like you don’t need to
you don’t need to i I I hope it’s true cuz I I think we talked about it before and we didn’t cuz we totally a new episode but um Oh wait what oh anyway wait I didn’t know I was so far behind anyway uh
yeah I can’t catch up to these people uh like there’s just that whole rumor going around that uh like they’re trying to get Steam on like the next Xbox or some kind of console along with like you know Xbox well I mean actually we’re getting the first signs of that with the newest Xbox app update on PC is showing other storefronts like you can see your Steam games and everything

it’s like hey if someone buys a game on the Xbox app but it goes through like a Steam right i assume Steam in some way to make this happen sends a kick back to Xbox oh something’s got to happen right yeah i mean it’s the same thing with their Riot partnership right like they’re not giving away every character in League for free if you have Game Pass riots’s coming to collect right like that was actually your research oh on what though are you talking about the the storefront cuz I just saw the the Xbox Insider app in fact isn’t it uh let’s see here xbox Insider app showing Steam games there are games stuck on the 360 says comics so you can still I don’t know how that’s relevant at all but uh looks like Steam integration is out on Xbox inside Xbox inside PC app yeah so it’s like on the not like I don’t think it’s in the public build yet i think it’s it’s more for the insiders like the test the testers right does that make sense

if honestly if Xbox came out with a console and it was like “Oh by the way you can play your Steam games from this.” I would probably get it i’d probably Yeah i mean because it’s it’s essentially a Steam machine at that point and so you’re telling me I can play my Steam games from a console and it’s going to work well okay like sold sold um or it’s a big trade-off right if they’re like “Oh we’ll have your Steam games on the Xbox storefront on PC but then like on the Steam Deck put just like make Game Pass fluid cuz I think it’s like a weird workaround with Game Pass still
deck.” Well you have to like do dual uh dual boot windows so it’s like it’s really I don’t think it’s really worth your time to try it to do it that way it’s kind of annoying and it’s also games aren’t like optimized they don’t optimize for cuz it’s it’s like Windows operating system on top of Linux operating system cuz at that point you just get like an ROG Ally or something cuz that’s how you play Window games
um anyway yeah so like I I I understand that she’s sad about this whole thing like like hardware is dead and she says like oh I don’t know where they’re going to go with this
i I feel like again like we was kind of talking about it just the writing on the wall yeah i think they’re just like they’re doing all the right things like what do you I don’t I Yeah I just I don’t see the argument and guess what if they ever want to just make a console they could just do it again
but like I don’t know consoles are going to die eventually right like we’re just going to get to a point where it’s just consoles either can’t improve anymore or they just become so expensive to make that like Microsoft and Sony are going to be like “Oh well we’re just selling these at a super loss now we can’t do that anymore.”

she goes on to say “What is Xbox’s long-term plan where where are the new hits what will make people care about Xbox 25 years from now?” Um I I completely understand where they’re going because Xbox still has like a gaming drought issue they just That’s right and that’s not even a new problem though right like that’s been a problem for like
two console generations now at this point um she goes “Why not bring it up back then?” She goes on to say “Next year marks the 20th anniversary of Xbox and I’m sure they’ll have a big announcement big plans maybe next year at the year
and all.” Right right but I guess we’ll have to wait and see um I don’t know what they could announce but uh I think Well the rumor is like the Halo one right oh well that’s that’s a separate video we’re going to about do but um Okay
uh Derek shut the damn [ __ ] um what damn you let me lost my train of thought uh yeah no Xbox always I I think Xbox is trying to compensate for not having like actual first party games by just giving you a stupid amount of third party with Game Pass
and then the games that they did have well actually is there even any first party anymore cuz all their their games are coming to the PlayStation so like what even is a like
right it’s like a it’s like a what I don’t even know I wouldn’t even say a year exclusive right cuz Indiana Jones was only exclusive for like
six months
like four months it was a very small amount of time so I think they’re starting to realize is like why make well even if I guess I I don’t know it’s like all over the place right because if they have no console there’s no point in exclusives right they’re just like we make games it goes on everything that’s it
right
the only exclusive now I guess would be like Game Pass exclusive but as long as you have a system that runs Game Pass you’re like always good for it i don’t know it’s really weird it’s really like
I think I honestly I think at this point they only have like exclusive on Xbox for a time to try and get people to buy an Xbox for like the first month

cuz I don’t think Indiana Jones by any metric was a game people are going to like I have to buy an Xbox for
