乗客0人の激安フェリーに1人で乗ったら、想像以上に寂しすぎた…

Hi, it’s Yuka! Right now, I’m in Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Today, I’m about to ride the Suruga Bay Ferry, which has the best view of Mount Fuji in Japan. I’m heading from Toi Port to Shimizu Port. The Suruga Bay Ferry connects the west Izu area to Shimizu in about an hour and a half. This ferry is known as the “Fujisan” Route 223, which runs across the sea. They say it’s called that because of the great views of Mount Fuji. Anyway, I’m going to enjoy this local ferry trip at a slow pace today. I’ll have a good time on the water! I’ll see you soon. Off I go! Here we are. This is the Suruga Bay Ferry “Fuji.” It departed from Shimizu Port at 7:40, and made its way all the way here. Wow, I have to say, it’s great to be working today. This is a mid-size ferry, 83 meters long, launched in 2005. And here’s the ticket booth! It says “Route 223” right there. Okay, I’ll go ahead and grab my ticket now. Got my ticket! It was… 20 dollars for an adult. Oh no, wait… Fishing’s not allowed. I got it for 20 dollars. Alright, time to head to the boarding area! There are no other passengers here yet, just the crew. Maybe it’s just me…? Could it be… a private ferry ride? Just kidding, I don’t think so. Anyway, let’s go get on the ferry! Off we go! I’m pretty sure there won’t be any rocking today. I’m all set! Everyone’s so friendly. I’m starting to feel like a celebrity with all the attention! But it’s all in good fun. Everyone’s so kind. It really makes me feel good! It’s funny, I’m easy to please when people are nice to me. This Suruga Bay Ferry route is officially recognized as Route 223 (Fujisan). When the weather’s good, you can see Mount Fuji just like this. *But you also need to have good karma to actually see it. *From the vehicle deck to the passenger rooms, we use the elevator to move around. The clouds around Mount Fuji and the weather. I wonder where it is today? It seems like the view changes depending on the weather. Apparently, the visibility changes with the weather. I’ve snuck inside the ferry. Check this out! There’s no one here… The inside is way bigger than I thought. They even have a shop here. This is the space where regular passengers sit, but it’s much more comfortable than I expected. I’m looking forward to it. *Investigating the shop’s selection. There’s a lot of local sake from Shizuoka. And some cute-colored… is this beer? Amber Fuji? This one here. Suruga Bay Gelasi—? Oops, I meant Suruga Bay Gelato. Everything is blue. It’s amazing… They also have a little area for lying down. *Because no one’s here, I can do stuff like this. *Living my best life. This is the best ferry for someone like me, who’s a bit shy. I’m having a blast. I didn’t expect to have the whole ferry to myself for just 20 dollars. I’m so lucky. When I stepped outside to the deck, it looked like this: Doesn’t it look like a poolside chair? It would be great to drink here. Look at this! It says takoyaki, but… There’s no one here… “It’s not available at the moment,” it says. They’re not serving it after all! So many delicious things, but nothing’s happening. And the only option is to pay by PayPay. Mount Fuji. Today, I can finally shoot freely. I want to be bigger than Mount Fuji. I want to be bigger than Mount Fuji. *I want to become Big Fuji. 9:34. We’re about to depart in a minute. I wonder if Mount Fuji will be visible. Goodbye, Toi Port. I’m heading to a place far from Toi Port. There’s so much water coming out from there. Goodbye, Toi Port. I’ll be back soon. Finally, the Suruga Bay Ferry has departed from Toi Port. I’m going to enjoy the breathtaking view of Mount Fuji from the sea. There’s so much water coming out from there. Goodbye, Toi Port. I’ll be back soon. Finally, the Suruga Bay Ferry has departed from Toi Port. I’m going to enjoy the breathtaking view of Mount Fuji from the sea. Oh, really? I didn’t expect there to be so few people. Actually, there’s no one here. It’s already like a private ferry ride, but… I even got a ticket for the special room! Let’s check it out! Wow… Wait, this is so VIP! Isn’t this amazing? The sofa has this fancy color. There are all sorts of books here too. I wanna read them all. It’s a space where you can see the ocean from all 360 degrees. It feels like I’m in the center of the world. Before entering the special room, I got coffee and some Chibi Maruko-chan Jari beans! The special room is only 5 dollars for an adult, so you can enjoy a VIP experience without breaking the bank. I made it to the very front! It’s amazing. I feel like I’m the captain now. *I really wouldn’t want to steer the ship like in Mario Kart, though. This is what the view from the front looks like. There’s a flag here that looks like a family crest. It’s there because, during the Edo period, gold from Izu and Toi was transported to Sumpu under the Tokugawa clan’s rule. By the way, on the right, you should be able to see Mount Fuji clearly… But, since it’s the rainy season, it’s a bit cloudy today. It’s still not visible. Maybe it’ll show up soon… Hopefully, it’ll appear soon… While we wait for Mount Fuji, I think I’ll grab something tasty from the shop. After all, food and drinks on the water are always the best. Maybe it’s time for a drink? Cheers! This is delicious. I also got some yakisoba. It’s like Fuji Mountain yakisoba, and I think it’s got some Fuji Mountain ingredients in it? (?) Let’s dig in. The yakisoba is really good. It feels like a festival. Eating outside is just the best. This is my first time on a ferry with so few people. Usually, when I’m alone, I worry about others looking at me. But today, I can really relax. I’m so glad I’m having a real ferry journey today. It’s just about the price, the view, and the lack of people. That’s the most important thing! I feel so relaxed! It’s the best ferry trip I’ve ever had. The shop ladies and the crew members are all working just for me, right? Now I’m feeling a little guilty, so maybe I’ll bring back the takoyaki from earlier. Maybe I’ll work alongside everyone. No work, no food! *But I’m eating tons anyway. *While on a no-drinking streak, beer on the water is just so good, it feels like it’s floating! I can see Mount Fuji, just a little bit. But it’s still shy, not coming out fully yet. Come on, Mount Fuji, show yourself! Go for it, Mount Fuji! Here’s the view from the third floor. Wait a sec. Is that… Shimizu Port already? Are we already at Shimizu? Wait, what? Hold on, that’s way too early, isn’t it? We’re arriving way ahead of schedule. I can’t believe we’re almost in Shimizu… This is a total surprise. *I better rush back inside and make sure I get my money’s worth for that 25 dollars. This is the souvenir corner. They have Mount Fuji goods. And a variety of local Shizuoka products. Oh, it’s me! So, the family crest from the front of the ship, was this one, huh? It was the Tokugawa Ieyasu family crest. Look at it, it’s so cool. But what I’m really after isn’t this. It’s this “O-Fune” stamp. I’ve been collecting these lately. Which one should I pick… Well, since it’s a new one, I’m kind of curious about this. I think I’ll get this one. What time are we arriving at Shimizu? We’re almost there. The schedule says 11:05, but we’ll probably be a bit earlier, around before 11. I got it! So happy! I just started collecting “O-Fune” stamps recently, so this is only my fourth one. I plan to collect ferry stamps from all over the country. I’m definitely going to keep collecting them! I got some gelato. It’s really blue. It’s called Suruga Bay Gelato, and it’s supposed to be salt milk flavor. Let’s try it. Oh no… we’re almost at Shimizu Port. I have to eat it quickly. We were supposed to arrive at 11:07, but it’s still 10:43, and we’re moving so fast. I didn’t expect to get there this quickly. I was just chilling out. Maybe it’s because… I’m the only one on board. It’s light, so we’re speeding up. Maybe it’s because I’m the only one on board, but every time I see the staff, they’re like, “Oh, hey!” and they talk to me. So kind. *The gelato is cold, but the people are warm on the Suruga Bay Ferry. Right now, it seems like the Suruga Bay Ferry isn’t taking cars on board. Maybe that’s why there are fewer people? Normally, there might be more passengers. To get to Toi Port, the nearest Shinkansen station is Mishima Station, and it takes about 50 minutes by bus. So the access is a little tricky, which might explain why it’s not very crowded. The nearest Shinkansen station is Mishima Station. It takes about 50 minutes by bus from there. So it’s a bit hard to get to. By the way, this Suruga Bay Ferry makes about 3 to 4 round trips a day. The first departure is the 9:35 am one I took, the second is at 1 pm, and the last one is at 4:30 pm. As I mentioned earlier, the price is 2,000 yen for adults. For a round trip, there’s a discount, and it’s 1,800 yen one-way. By the way, the fish caught in Suruga Bay include things like horse mackerel, sakura shrimp, and whitebait, which are famous. When I was in school, we used to have sakura shrimp rice for lunch sometimes. So I’ve been enjoying Suruga Bay since I was a kid. I didn’t know it at the time, but Suruga Bay is the deepest bay in Japan. The deepest point is about 2,500 meters. It’s Japan’s deepest bay, and you can see Japan’s tallest mountain. Sadly, Mount Fuji is hiding behind the clouds, just like me! It’s a little shy, like me, with my social awkwardness. Before I knew it, we’re almost at Shimizu Port already. Oh no… we’re here! I haven’t finished eating. We’ve arrived at Shimizu Port. Wow, that hour flew by so fast. I didn’t expect to get here this soon. I guess I was just too relaxed. I think I’ll get off now. *I feel like a popular person, being sent off by so many people! I’m so glad I could experience the Suruga Bay Ferry. It was awesome. I rode the Suruga Bay Ferry “Fuji” and made my way from Toi Port to Shimizu Port. Honestly, I didn’t expect to be the only passenger. It’s my first time, so… It’s been such a fun experience! One of the best things about the Suruga Bay Ferry is that you can use the special room for just 5 dollars. That was amazing. The special room feels really luxurious, and there was no one else there, of course. It was like having it all to myself. Plus, all the windows were 180 degrees, so I could enjoy the view however I liked, and it felt like I was at the center of the world. It was amazing. The second thing was the yakisoba. It was so delicious. I ate it outside. There was no sea breeze, and the ferry didn’t rock at all today, so it was a really comfortable ride. It felt like I was at a beer garden, and it felt like I got a little taste of summer early. The third thing is the price is really reasonable, which is a big plus. For just 20 dollars, you can have such a special experience, and I think it’s something I’d definitely recommend to everyone. Sadly, it was cloudy today, so I couldn’t see Mount Fuji clearly, but next time, when the weather is better, and when cars can be brought on board again, I want to bring a car and do a proper “revenge” trip. Thank you for watching until the end today. I really appreciate it. If you liked it, please subscribe, comment, and give it a thumbs up! See you, bye-bye!
