女性ファッション誌「ViVi」（講談社）の専属モデルで女優の玉城ティナさんが10月7日、東京都内で行われた写真集「渇望」（講談社）の刊行記念トーク＆サイン本お渡し会を開催した。イベント前の会見では8日の20歳の誕生日をサプライズケーキで祝福され、「早ーい！ ありがとうございます」とにっこり。「日々何か“渇望”して生きていきたい」と20代を迎える思いを語った。
「渇望」は、「読む写真集」をテーマに、作家の島本理生さん、映画「溺れるナイフ」などで知られる山戸結希監督、イラストレーターのanccoさん、スタイリストの遠藤リカさんら各界で活躍するアーティストとコラボレーションした異色の写真集。玉城さんの書き下ろし短編小説も収録されている。B5判変型、128ページ。8日発売、価格は2200円（税抜き）。
「20歳っていうのは節目。こういう（写真集を出すという）形で迎えられたのはうれしいです」と話す玉城さん。「渇望」というタイトルは自身で付けたといい、「おしゃれな英単語とか全く浮かばなくて。漢字2文字がいいなと思った時に、10代から20代にかけて女の子ってすごく変化していく中で、これからどう生きていこうかなと考えて、日々何かを求めて、“渇望”して生きていきたい」と、思いを語った。
今後は、女優業もモデル業も「脳の違う部分を使っている気がして、どっちにもいい刺激になるので、どちらもやっていきたい。せりふ覚えは割と早い方です」と意欲的。今回挑戦した短編小説についても「普段思ったこととか、2年くらい前から書き留めていたものを膨らませた。ぜひ、そういう（作家などの）ジャンルでも活動できればいいな」と語った。

Actress Tina Tamashiro – an exclusive model for the magazine “ViVi” (Kōdansha) on October 7th held a talk show and signed autograph book for album release. “Katsubō” (tentatively translated as “Desire”) (Kōdansha) in Tokyo.
After being blessed with a 20-year-old Surprise Cake on October 8th in an interview before the event, she smiled and said, “How fast! Thank you everyone”.
Tamashiro said, “the age of 20 is an important milestone. I am very happy to be able to have a birthday this way (release a photo album)”.
She said that the title of “Katsubō” (Desire) was her decision, she also recalled, “I totally do not know the popular English. When I think about the title, 2 kanji words are good. In the process of changing from a 10-year-old girl to a 20-year-old girl, I kept thinking how I would keep living in the future, I want to wish for something that is “desire” to keep living”.
