相模湖に沈む勝瀬集落は、かつて京阪地帯の消費地と甲州方面からの生産物の集散地として栄えた集落でしたが、相模ダムの建設計画により今は相模湖に沈んでいます。
神奈川県の豊かな水は、相模ダム（相模湖）の完成と勝瀬集落の犠牲があって成り立っていることを忘れてはなりません。今回は夏の涼を求め、またその面影を探すために相模ダムに赴きました。ついでにあの有名なホテル・ローヤルにも行きたかったのですが、入口付近に警察車両が止まっており近寄ることも出来ませんでした。ただ、コロナ渦によりラブホテル・アイネイン相模湖がもはや廃ホテル状況となっており入口付近を少しだけ撮影させて頂きました。コロナ渦が長引けば中国人観光客の足が遠のき、廃ホテルになるには時間の問題かもしれません。
