【草津】2泊3日女ひとり草津温泉旅行、予算1万円で名物グルメを限界まで食べ歩く…
Hey guys, it’s Yuuka! I’m here at Kusatsu Onsen in Gunma today. I stayed at this insanely cost-effective ryokan last night, and today is day two in Kusatsu. Last time I came here it was just a day trip, so I barely had any time at all. But today I wanna fully explore everything. So I brought about $65. With my $65 budget, I’m gonna snack around and buy souvenirs— basically have as much fun as possible. By the end of today I’m gonna know Kusatsu like it’s my own backyard. Well… maybe more like my own little farm. Alright, let’s head out! Where should I start sightseeing first? It’s been so long—Kusatsu is seriously fun. I just love the vibe here. Made it to Yubatake! *Back at Yubatake for the first time in a year.* It smells super sulfur-y here. I actually really love this smell. My parents’ house has a farm too, but… it definitely doesn’t have this kind of magical atmosphere. Oh no, my dad’s totally gonna scold me for saying that… Run awayyy! What should I do with my $65? What can I eat with $65? I could probably eat like 100 onsen manju… How should I spend it? If something yummy catches my eye, I’m definitely gonna walk around and snack. Oh my gosh, so cute. *Encountered a giant fluffy white dog.* So cute! *Honestly, this dog is cute enough to treat to like $33 worth of snacks.* It’s totally fine—seriously, you’re adorable. Okay, let’s try this shop first. “Yoritomo.” They sell amazake here, but since I’m driving today, I’m gonna skip the amazake. I’ll try this steamy konnyaku instead. I got some konnyaku and an onsen egg. You crack this yourself—tap tap—and… Ta-da! Onsen egg is ready. Let’s eat! Onsen-egg energy loading. So good. Seriously delicious. By the way, price-wise— The konnyaku was about $2.0, and the onsen egg was about $1.0, so around $2.9 total. I’ve barely spent anything. *If you came to Kusatsu right now, I’d treat you to whatever you want.* This sauce? The glaze? It’s super sweet, and unbelievably good. If I keep spending at this pace, I’m never gonna use up my $65… I kinda wanted to drink amazake too. If only I wasn’t driving today… Last time I’m pretty sure I drove here too and couldn’t drink amazake then either. *Sorry, Papa-Kuri, but that’s the one downside of coming by car.* So this is what Kusatsu is like in winter. It’s actually my first winter visit. The steam is insane. It’s freezing, but the steam is all warm, so it feels kinda surreal. *I love this place so much I honestly wanna be a ryokan hostess in Kusatsu.* Wow… This is peak Kusatsu vibes. You can barely see anything through the steam, but the color of the water is super pretty too. It’s this emerald green color, the water looks insanely beautiful. It looks super hot though, but it’s so cold I kinda wanna jump in (?) Since I’m here, I’m gonna go take a little commemorative photo. I wonder if I’m in the frame? *I’m such an introvert I could only do this fake Glico pose.* Did it actually capture me? There’s even all-you-can-eat steak in a place like this. All-you-can-eat steak is kind of insane… But… today’s supposed to be a street food day, *You can’t really “eat while walking” with steak, right.* Found a hot spring hand bath. If I remember right, this is super hot. Let’s try it. My hands are freezing and totally numb, like they’re about to turn into ice, so I’ll thaw them out in this hand bath. So hot!! This is actually really hot… *What kind of reaction was that, me.* I swear it’s like 55°C. Anyone wanna do a challenge with this? Okay, here we go. *Super-hot hand-bath endurance challenge.* I lasted three seconds. I’m gonna get burned… What should I eat next? Wait, hold on, no way— I swear I just caught a glimpse of that word. No way… They have fried oysters. My absolute favorite—oysters. Fried oysters should be safe, right? I ate raw oysters the other day and totally got sick, but if it’s tempura I definitely won’t, right? Okay, let’s get some. *They’re making them fresh to order, so I’m waiting.* Got my fried oysters! They look amazing. As for the price… *Not “below,” more like “above,” actually.* Fresh out of the fryer and super crispy. Oh no… the oyster juice is dripping everywhere… This is kind of hard to eat while walking… *It’s as hot as a car hood in midsummer, so give me a sec.* It’s a weekday in Kusatsu, but it’s still really lively. So far, fried oysters are in first place. These oysters are seriously good. I wanna eat raw oysters until I’m totally stuffed. But if I did that I’d definitely get sick again. Oysters are so good that I once even renamed myself “Suzukaki Yuuka” because of them, and even for someone like me, these oysters are insanely delicious. *If you’re curious about the name change, go check out this video.* I bought some Kusatsu pudding. It’s so cute. But actually— I came here for the regular Kusatsu pudding, and then the staff told me they also have warm pudding, so I ended up buying the “steam pudding” too. Dual-wielding desserts today. Warm pudding is pretty rare, right? Looks delicious. It kinda feels like I’m eating something that’s not pudding. Like unbaked cookie dough or something. *I’m just bad at describing food—it actually tastes really good.* This one is the regular smooth pudding. So good. I think I prefer this one. The steam pudding is good too, though. But yeah, classics never fail. Look, they even have a little cushion for taking pudding photos. You put it underneath and take a commemorative pic. *Did both eggs show up in the shot?* Thanks for the food. There’s a Kusatsu Onsen Burger too. It looks insanely good. It’s huge, though. Got the Kusatsu Burger! It cost 2,000 yen—about $13. But the sides are impressive. Veggies and fries, and I got melon soda for the drink. Ah, wait—it’s Kusatsu soda. It even has the little onsen symbol on it. Let’s dig in. *It’s pricey, but the meat is thick and delicious. (Pricey though.)* *Not cute at all, but I’m taking a massive bite.* It’s good, but it’s way too big— One of the last foods I’d wanna eat on a date. Probably ranks around 120th place. I just did the math, and I’ve spent 4,330 yen so far—about $28. That’s almost half my budget. Wow, 10,000 yen disappears fast. Guess the 2,000 yen burger was a big chunk. I still wanna buy souvenirs too. Oh, right—Kusatsu has yukata rentals. Wearing a yukata sounds fun too. *Debating whether to perform “Yuuka no Mai” in a yukata.* Kusatsu really is such a fun place. It’s slowly becoming my backyard. *Well, more like my farm.* Twitter. Right after this, at a place called Zazunoyu, you can rent yukata. I couldn’t wear one last time, so I’m here for my redemption arc. Here it is—super cute. Let’s go check it out. I got changed! Aren’t I super cute right now? They even did my hair for me. I love this so much. Doesn’t it kinda feel like a coming-of-age ceremony? Even though I’m still “18.” Oh wait—18 counts as an adult now. Right, back in my day adulthood started at 20. *If I talk too much my age slips out.* Alright, let’s go explore in my yukata. Let’s go! Oh no, my Heattech’s peeking out. It’s freezing… Wearing a yukata makes me feel like I’m at a festival. If they had a shooting game, I’d totally go. I wanna go bam bam bam and “take them down.” When you wear a yukata you take these tiny little steps, so it makes you look kinda elegant. This feels so good. Isn’t the pink one adorable? There it is—found the shooting booth! Let’s go—Shateki Honpo. Knocking down a small one is 1 point. The ones with yellow stickers are worth 3 points. The big ones with red marks are 5 points. You add up your total score, and you exchange it for the prizes here at the end. You can’t take the target board itself home, so be careful. Check how to use the gun and the color-coded points before starting, and ask if you get confused while playing. *Alright, time to blast everything.* First, push the cork bullet all the way into the tip of the gun. Ugh, this is kinda scary… okay, it’s in. Pull the lever toward you until it makes a “click.” It actually needs a surprising amount of strength. *Ten seconds in and it’s obvious I have zero talent for this.* So… I just shoot like this? Here goes. Wait—the tiny one— Think I can take him out…? Huh… I didn’t even see it, it was too fast… *Maybe my eyesight for moving things is lacking.* You can stretch your arms out more—it’s okay. I might actually be bad at this… Is it okay to get this close? You can get even closer if you want. Oops, I forgot to pull it back. Ahh, nothing’s falling at all. The high-score ones are kinda tough. Wait, is this guy worth a lot… is he 5 points? Yeah, the big ones are worth more. *My life motto: always go on the offense.* Feels like one more hit might knock it down. *Big targets don’t fall easily…* Yes! Five points! *I kept shooting after that, but…* *Turns out that earlier shot was a once-in-a-lifetime miracle.* *I’ll train to become a shooting-game pro before my next visit.* Just finished the shooting game. It was so fun— I ended up doing it twice. I scored 21 points total, so I got a prize! Is this like Pop-Up Pirate? Wait, no— It has a different name. “Dokidoki Galaxy.” Basically the Pop-Up Pirate of outer space. I’ll play with it later. I also got this drawstring pouch. Yay. I spent 1,000 yen on the shooting games—about $6.5— but it was totally worth it. When you think of Kusatsu Onsen, you think of foot baths. Feet…? Feeeet…? Wait—hot! But once you get used to it, it’s surprisingly warm. Ahh… I’m alive again… Foot baths are kinda magical. Even when the air is freezing, your whole body warms up just by soaking your feet. Foot bath power is wild. It’s my first time doing a foot bath in a yukata. Oh right—about the yukata rental, it cost 2,500 yen—about $16. I added a hair-set option, and that was an extra 200 yen—about $1.3. Super reasonable, right? So the total was 2,700 yen—about $17.6. I don’t think I’ve hit 10,000 yen yet. Maybe around 8,000 yen? It’s so hot my feet are starting to change color. At this point it’s not a foot bath— it’s an “Achi-yu” bath. So hot… (?) Wait—there’s a yakiniku place behind me. I kinda wanted to go… But with only 2,000 yen left—about $13— I’d be over budget for sure. Alright, time to get out. Last time I came to the foot bath in Kusatsu, I forgot to bring a towel. But today I made sure to bring a bath towel. It was a bit bulky, but it’s winter, so there’s no way I could’ve done it without one. Glad I brought it. That felt amazing. I calculated my remaining budget just now— and I’ve got 1,970 yen left, about $12.9. *Even my pronunciation has relaxed too much.* For the finale, I’m gonna go check out a souvenir shop. Maybe I’ll go here. “Honda Souvenirs.” *I’ll buy souvenirs with the rest of my budget, then head home.* I spent the day eating my way around Kusatsu. I didn’t expect 10,000 yen to disappear this fast. At first I was worried like, “What if I can’t even spend it all…?” But there was so much good food, and the yukata rental was fun too, so I had an amazing day. I also picked up some souvenirs earlier. Crayon Shin-chan cream sandwich! It looks so good. I’m actually doing a car-camping night here in Kusatsu after this, so I’ll eat it then. And this—Kusatsu Onsen Story. This one’s a beer. I’ll probably drink it after I get home. It says it’s fruity and a little sweet, so I had to try it. Well, I’m actually not drinking right now— so once my no-alcohol phase ends, I’ll enjoy it then. And lastly… the Kusatsu towel! Isn’t it cute? A towel is super useful around here, so I’m sure I’ll use it while I’m still in Kusatsu. Thanks so much for watching until the end today. I’m gonna enjoy my car-camping night now. If you liked this video, please subscribe, leave a comment, and give it a like! Okay, bye-bye! This one’s cute so I’ll show it at the end. Yay!
