熱海の漁港で軽バン車中泊、海鮮を食べながら静かに夜を楽しむはずが…
Hi, it’s Yuuka! I’m in Atami today. I was actually driving toward Nagoya just a bit ago. I’ve always wanted to try car camping in Atami. So today, I’m finally making that dream happen. I’m gonna try car camping in Atami! You guys might’ve already noticed… Papa Clipper is in the hospital right now, so this isn’t Papa Clipper today. *I’m car camping in a loaner car, an Every!* What should I name it… Well, since it’s a loaner, let’s just call him Dai-chan. So today I’ll be car camping with Dai-chan. The Every and my NV Clipper look super similar to begin with. Let me give you a quick tour of the inside. The inside looks like this. Doesn’t it look almost identical to Papa Clipper? Like seriously, you can barely tell them apart. The only differences are around here. Dai-chan has a microwave and also a mini fridge. *Does that mean I can drink ice-cold beer?!* These cutting boards and pots around here are things I brought from Papa Clipper. They’re technically my stuff. Only this portable power station belongs to Dai-chan. I also brought the fan I used during summer car camping, but it’s cold today so I probably won’t need it. And this sunshade on the back here— Dai-chan doesn’t have curtains, so I put it up like this, just like I used to do. It’s the same type I used a long time ago. So yeah, that’s pretty much the inside. It really looks super similar to Papa Clipper. Doesn’t it feel like they’re siblings? Like he’s the big brother and I’m the little sister. This one’s customized in a way that’s easy for guys to use, though. Papa Clipper has more of a girly vibe. *It’s basically like Ani-Clipper at this point.* Okay, first I want to lie down, so let’s set up the bed. The way you make the bed is different from Papa Clipper. Papa Clipper just slides out and becomes a bed, but— With Dai-chan, you pull this part out, and then this little bump here— apparently you set it on top of this spot. And just like that, it’s done. Isn’t it crazy how stable it is? It totally looks like it’d snap! *Kind of worried it’ll snap since I overate at the rest area.* I’ll pull this side out the same way. Okay, now it’s done. This side’s super easy too, I love it. But we’re still not finished yet. On top of this, I’m gonna put… this car-camping mattress. *This mattress is also on a business trip from Papa Clipper.* Done. Now the GORON bed is complete. The most important thing is how comfy it is, right? So I’m gonna test how it feels. And of course, I brought a blanket too. With this, I’m gonna try doing a GORON. Ah, this feels so good… GORON really is the best. This might actually be better than Papa Clipper… No, okay, that’s going too far. Papa Clipper is amazing, but this one’s really amazing too… Kei vans really are the best. You can stretch your legs out and just GORON. Let me take a little break… It’s not like I’m actually gonna sleep or anything. I’m just gonna “test the comfort” for a bit. *You never know if a car’s good until you GORON in it.* Uh-oh… It’s not like I totally fell asleep or anything, but… when I came to, like two hours had passed. Oh no… my eyes are all dry and blinky… *Thought it’d been 20 minutes, but it was two hours and I freaked out.* I’m hungry. Let’s go ahead and have dinner. So, with Dai-chan here, Papa Clipper has a little window here, but this one has a fun little trick in this spot. You unlock it like this, and fold this down… it turns into a table, how cool is that? There’s a support board behind here, and when you hook it onto that part, it becomes a table. This is super handy, right? I want to install this in Papa Clipper too. There’s a kitchen and a table, so I can properly eat dinner in here. I’ll take out this IH cooker I brought from home, and today I’m gonna cook right on this table. There’s an outlet here, so I’ll plug it in, and then, using this pot, I’m gonna make miso soup with clams from Atami today. When you think of Atami, you think seafood, right? So today I’m making a seafood dish. I’ll grab the clams I bought earlier. When the bed’s set up, the fridge door barely opens… but I mean, as long as I can get stuff out, it’s fine. Clams… and miso. Izu miso from Izu, and these super fresh, delicious-looking clams. There’s so many… I bought way too many… Oh no, I definitely bought a huge amount of clams. Is this pot too small…? Maybe I should use a bigger one. *Feels like I’m about to make miso soup for 7 people.* Maybe I’ll use this one. Does anyone drink this much miso soup alone? Well whatever, better too much than too strong, right? Okay, first I’ll fill the pot with water. The faucet is a little different from Papa Clipper’s. You just twist it and it works. Let me rinse it for a second. Then fill it up to the top. The water pressure’s kinda weak, so this might take a while. But waiting like this is fun too. This silver sink looks pretty cool. It’s a different kind of cool compared to Papa Clipper. Papa Clipper has tiles around the kitchen area, but this one has wood. I really put a lot of effort into Papa Clipper’s kitchen. Oh no… the water ran out… Seriously… the water ran out… I’m gonna go buy some from the vending machine. *Please pretend you didn’t see me panicking about the water.* Okay, I refilled the tank. Now I’ll rinse the clams. This should be fine, right? They’re not that dirty anyway. Once the clams are rinsed, into the pot they go. Okay, turning the heat on. 180°C should be good. Now put the lid on and let it simmer. This is way too easy… even I can cook something like this. Alright, is it ready? Ready… set… open! The steam is coming up. It already looks so good. Now I’ll add the miso. Why does it say “Izu Miso Inaka” so boldly? They’re really pushing the countryside vibe. Shops in Atami close ridiculously early. If you’ve been to the shopping street in Atami, you’ll know what I mean, but if you go around 8 p.m., it’s like, “Yup, Atami is officially done for the day.” So today I went to the shopping street around 5 p.m., and went on a full-on clam shopping spree. Then inside this drawer, there are scissors, and these cooking tools all came on loan from Papa Clipper. Even if Papa Clipper is on hiatus, the cooking tools are absolutely not on break. *If they can work, they better work.* Oh no… my dad’s usually in charge of making miso soup, so I’ve actually never made it myself. About this much? I’ll add it and mix it in. Maybe a little more…? Next time I should properly learn how to make miso soup. But even if it ends up too strong or too weak, I’m the one eating it, so it’s totally fine. I was thinking, “Wow, I come to Atami a lot,” so I tried to remember the last time I came. Turns out the last time was at the end of last year, when I went to Chikurinan Mizuno. So I actually haven’t been here for a whole year. I really thought I’d been here more often. I went to Mizuno at the end of last year, and I’m pretty sure I went the year before that too. I want to go again this year. I want to… but I wonder if I can… That ryokan is super expensive— staying one night is almost ¥100,000, like about $640. But the day-use hot spring is only ¥3,000, around $19. So every year I go just for the day-use hot spring. Right over there is the Atami Korakuen Hotel, and they used to have a day-use hot spring too. I think it was open until 10 p.m. and cost like ¥3,000, so about $19. There’s a chance I could go today. Apparently it’s called “Ocean Spa Fuua.” I’ve been super curious about it. If I have time later, maybe I’ll go. I have no idea how strong the flavor is, so I’ll taste it. It’s really weak… Let me add a bit more miso… This much should be fine, right? *By the time I ask you guys through the video, it’s already too late.* Maybe Izu miso is just on the lighter side. Please turn out delicious. Not many people cast spells like this on miso soup, right? *Playing pretend “miso-soup maid café.”* I love clam miso soup so much. I always drink it the day after I’ve been drinking alcohol. Oh my gosh, it’s way too good… I might actually drink the whole thing just “tasting” it. Now that the clam miso soup is ready— I got something really good. Just clam miso soup alone isn’t enough to fully enjoy Atami’s seafood. So I brought a seafood bowl too. No, listen… I seriously considered cooking it myself. I really thought about making everything properly… But buying it from a good shop is definitely going to taste better, right? So today’s theme is “car camping without overworking.” I bought a seafood bowl that’s guaranteed to be delicious. *This is basically a treasure chest of the sea.* I bought a super “miso-soupy” looking bowl too. I’ll pour the miso soup into this. Oh no… sitting here makes it super cramped. I want lots of clams. People who eat after me might get fewer clams. I’m taking plenty for myself. Done. Clam miso soup! First, I’ll pour soy sauce all over it. Even the soy sauce bottle says “OSAKANA DAISUKI,” it’s so cute. And with that, it’s done. Such an easy dish. I went to the seafood bowl shop in front of Atami Station earlier, and bought their “Toro Torotoro Don.” Look at this—doesn’t it look insanely fresh and juicy? Alright, let’s dig in. It’s fatty tuna… it looks amazing. It’s insanely melty… Seafood in Atami just hits different. *Eating a seafood bowl while car camping—this might be the peak of my life.* One of the reasons I wanted to car camp in Atami was honestly just to eat this seafood. This is good too. It can’t beat the seafood, obviously, but it’s pretty tasty. If only I had a beer here… that would be perfect… Recently I keep saying I’m “not drinking” in my videos, but then I end up drinking anyway, so a bunch of people commented like, “You’re not keeping your promise!” So today I genuinely held back. Ugh… painful. I really wanted a beer… *I want to go back to that Yokohama all-you-can-drink-beer hotel.* The place where I’m car camping right now is about a 10-minute drive from Atami Station. Earlier, some cruisers went by out there, and the night view was insanely pretty. Everything was just sparkling… The ocean is right in front of me, so the location is absolutely perfect. There are a few other cars parked besides mine, and some of them look like they’re car camping too. There were even people having a barbecue earlier. This spot is pretty big, but it’s quiet and really comfortable. There was a camper van here earlier too, so I’m guessing most people are car camping in camper vans and stuff. Out of everyone car camping, mine might be the smallest car. *When I see people car camping in huge cars, I get kind of jealous.* Recently I’ve been checking out all kinds of cars, and kei vans are really great, but I’m super curious about the Hiace. If you’re going to car camp, a bigger car definitely seems easier to live in, right? I’ve been constantly looking at Hiaces like, “I really want one…” With a Hiace, you could probably have a sleeping area and even a dining area. You could probably even walk around inside a bit. I wonder how many kei vans’ worth of space that is. Car camping in a Hiace is like my dream. *If my dad sees this video, he’ll probably get mad.* And not just a regular Hiace— if it was one of those with the raised roof, it’d be even bigger and you could make tons of storage space. A big one like that sounds amazing. That’s my dream. *If you drive a Hiace, please tell me what it’s like.* Next to this parking lot, there’s a place called “Sea Fishing Park,” and it looks like you can fish there. I’ve never gone sea fishing before, and I really want to try. On a recent family trip, I tried filleting a fish by myself, and it was actually really fun. So now I want to go fishing and eat a fish I filleted myself. But sea fishing seems pretty tough for beginners, right? I wonder if I could actually do it… But I ride boats all the time, so I should be fine with seasickness. I guess it’s more about patience. Fishing looks so fun. *Going fishing in a Hiace and filleting the fish inside sounds like heaven.* When I went outside earlier, there were like 20 people fishing, everyone was doing it. I was thinking I should join them, but I’m such a total beginner that I held back. Also… I don’t even own a fishing rod… I wonder what you can catch in Atami. If you used some super strong fishing rod, could you catch a Gyarados or something…? *I’ve only ever fished in Pokémon and Animal Crossing, I’m a total beginner.* Thanks for the meal. That was soooo good… I’m stuffed. Seafood bowls are literally good every single time. Next, I’m heading to the day-use hot spring attached to the hotel next door and fully enjoy Atami to the max. I just got out of the bath. It was sooo nice. But it was kinda pricey… 3,000 yen for one hour, so like $19. There were public baths too, but— the “one-minute walk” convenience totally won. Still, it was super clean and really nice. Since I finished my bath… of course the grand finale is— onsen manju! This box had four pieces, but they gave me one extra. Such kindness… five is a lot… I bought Atami Beer too. Alright, cheers! No, wait… okay, listen, this is different… Atami is gorgeous this time of year with all the autumn leaves, and I got all emotional and excited— so I figured… maybe it’s better if I get a little tipsy? …so I drank it. *For someone avoiding alcohol, beer’s effect is “boosting your spirits.”* It’s been a while since I had onsen manju. Feels like I eat it every time I come to Atami. Sweet and delicious. Perfect way to end the day. Oh wow, there’s instructions here. A little guide for the onsen manju. “How to enjoy the Onsen Enmei Manju deliciously.” “Warm it in the microwave for about 10 seconds in its wrapper, and you can enjoy it like it’s freshly made.” Oh wow, I didn’t know— I just ate it normally. It’s a little late now, but I’ll try it. This is my first time using the microwave inside the car. Ten seconds, okay. So if it’s 10 seconds, I should stop it when it hits :50. *The anguished scream of the onsen manju.* Oh no, it made a weird sound… is it okay? Wow… it looks totally freshly steamed! Warm and sooo good. It’s packed with sweet red bean paste inside—amazing. There’s a black one and a white one. The black one’s brown sugar, and the white one’s regular sugar. Both of them are super tasty. Atami is really easy to get to by train or Shinkansen, but if you come by car, you can casually explore places away from the station too, so yeah, cars are seriously convenient. I think I’ll save the rest of the onsen manju for breakfast tomorrow. Tomorrow I’ll be driving toward Nagoya again, so I’ll do my best again tomorrow. But I love driving, so I’m honestly excited. Alright then, to get ready for tomorrow, I want to fully recharge, so I’m going to call it a night here. Good night. Good morning. I’m totally a rain girl, but today it’s super sunny. Last night I was so sleepy that I just crashed, and before I knew it, it was morning. But yeah, it really is cold this time of year… Papa Clipper is getting an AC and some renovations done right now, and once that’s finished, winter will be totally easy mode. So cold. Going for a walk. The weather is way too nice… The vibe around here is so good. The ocean’s this close, it totally feels like a port town. There are already people out fishing. Fishing people wake up so early. *I’d love like 10 fish as a little share.* The mountains over there are just starting to change color. It’s so pretty. I brought the leftover manju from yesterday. Let’s eat. I’ve been overeating a lot lately, so I’ll just have manju for breakfast. *The “manju diet” (my invention).* This is way too good… Was onsen manju always this delicious? This is dangerous… I could down three in no time. They’re gone in a split second. I’m so jealous of families who go fishing together. I want my family to go fishing together too. Thanks for the meal. *A ship just came into the harbor.* Look, look, it’s a ship—heeeey! That ship is called “Ile de Vacances Premier,” and it runs between Atami and Hatsushima. Apparently it only takes about 30 minutes from here. I really want to ride it someday. That beach you can kinda see over there— that’s Atami Sun Beach. I actually went there when I first started YouTube. Or well… technically it was a video I filmed *before* I started. I went into the ocean alone in the middle of winter there. I got so embarrassed afterward that I made it members-only… *A legendary early-era video in its own way.* It’s a super nostalgic memory for me. I feel like I have a lot of emotional memories tied to Atami. Alright, let’s clean up the bed. Okay, done. So that was my long-awaited Atami car-camping night. It was seriously so much fun. I couldn’t go all-out with cooking this time, but honestly, that kind of “not trying too hard” vibe is actually the real me, so I feel like I showed that properly. Atami’s scenery was gorgeous, and the hot spring was amazing—super fun trip. After this, as you might’ve seen in the previous video, I’m continuing my drive toward Nagoya. So please check out that video too! Thank you so much for watching until the end today. If you enjoyed this video, please subscribe, leave a comment, and give it a like. Okay, bye-bye!
