【東京→大阪】半個室夜行バスがヤバい。独立席5720円
Hey guys, it’s Yuuka! I’m here at JR Tokyo Station today. Ugh… no matter how many times I come here, I always get lost. I literally just got lost in the underground mall a minute ago. So anyway, this time— I’m taking the “Sakura Kanko Relax 3.” It’s a super cost-effective night bus from Tokyo to Osaka. Let’s see what it’s like! I’ve got really high hopes for this one personally. The fare is just 5,720 yen — about $37. That’s already such a good deal, right? I’m so happy! And apparently, every seat has a private curtain that gives you your own little space. It’s basically like a mini private room on wheels! Let’s check out what this solo night bus trip feels like. Alright, let’s go! This time, the terminal isn’t the usual Yaesu South Exit one— It’s at the Marunouchi Kajibashi Parking Area instead. It’s a bit of a walk, but… *If it’s cheaper, I’ll walk as far as it takes!* It’s my first time walking through this street. It’s actually really stylish—nice vibes! Alright… let’s do this… walk power mode, on! The night view of Tokyo Station is so beautiful! Wow… seriously stunning. Last time when I took the Dream Relier bus, I departed from that terminal over there. I remember going down the stairs and boarding from the basement. There are way too many bus terminals here—getting lost is inevitable! Anyway, I’ll just keep walking straight down this road. There’s actually a special reason I’m heading to Osaka this time. I’m so excited—my very first Osaka event has been confirmed! It’s happening on January 30th and 31st—two whole days! And today I’m heading there to check out the event venue. Oh, and guess what? Tickets are available starting *right now!* You can find all the details in the description below and also pinned in the comments. So make sure to check it out! I seriously can’t wait to meet you guys there! Alright then, I’m off to the bus terminal— Still got a bit of walking to do! I better build up my stamina before the event… *Goal: Walk 10 kilometers every day!* From the Yaesu South Exit, keep walking straight to the right. It’s supposed to take about five minutes on foot. But I walk pretty slow, so… it’ll probably take me around ten minutes instead. Haha. *Just went with the crowd, and somehow I got there super smoothly!* The 8:20 pm bus bound for Kyoto, Umeda, and Namba— the Sakura Kousoku Bus @Liner AT72D service— checks in at Platform 6. The bus I’m taking tonight just pulled into the platform! Aww, the cherry blossom design is so cute! Oh, and just to be clear—I’m not *Sakura*, okay? Don’t worry. 😂 Alright, let’s hop on and check it out! Ohh, so this is what it looks like inside! There are curtains on the side seats, but the middle ones are kinda… fully exposed. *Probably why those seats were cheaper to book.* My seat’s 6C by the window. Looks like they’ve separated the male and female sections too. When I close the curtain like this— it actually becomes a pretty private little space! Uh oh… it’s coming…! *My scream wasn’t cute, so I changed the sound in editing.* 😅 It’s not a full private room, but— at least I won’t scare anyone with my weird sleeping face! Looks like I’ll be able to sleep like a baby tonight. Departure time’s getting close, and the driver just got on board. Alright, here we go—it’s finally time! Oh! We’re moving! Current time is 11:20 p.m. Alright, let’s “depart oshinko!” (my weird little phrase 😂) Oh no, that was embarrassing… okay, I’ll behave now. The seatbelt is a rare 3-point type for a night bus, so even if I fall asleep, I’ll be safe! As expected from “Relax 3”… The comfort totally lives up to the name. Feels like I can totally handle this 10-hour trip! Just a few minutes after leaving Tokyo Station— we’re already passing near the Imperial Palace! I used to dream about doing runs around the palace. Once, I even bought running shoes and clothes to give it a try. But after running just 1.5 kilometers… I realized how ridiculously out of shape I was. I ended up quitting and eating ramen instead—bittersweet memory. 🍜 *Couldn’t resist the ramen, okay?* Honestly, just watching the scenery from a night bus is perfect for me. When I’m driving myself, I can’t stare at the night view too long or I’ll get caught by “night patrol.” 😂 So this feels way more relaxing. *Feels like I’m listening to an English listening test right now.* “For your safety, please fasten your seatbelt.” “Thank you for choosing Sakura Highway Bus.” “We truly appreciate your ride tonight.” “After a brief stop in Yokohama—” “we’ll continue on toward the Kansai region.” (Guess that’s my cue to chill and enjoy the ride!) After a while on the road, I spotted something familiar— the famous Rainbow Bridge! It’s that huge suspension bridge connecting Odaiba to central Tokyo. At night, it’s all lit up and seriously gorgeous. If I remember right, there’s even a sign saying “Keep your eyes on the road.” So when I’m the one driving, I’ve never really gotten to admire the view. But tonight, I’ll just relax and enjoy the scenery while silently thanking the driver. Wow… this is perfect. But those office buildings with the lights still on at this hour… Could that be… the sparkle of overtime? Props to everyone still working—thank you for your hard work! Looks like we’re heading out of Odaiba now, on our way to Yokohama. I can even spot Tokyo Tower glowing in the distance! This is exactly why I love night bus trips so much. While the lights are still on inside the bus, let’s do a little seat tour! First up, the seat pitch. It’s not super wide, but— if you tuck your feet under the seat in front, it’s actually quite comfy. There’s a small handrail to stretch your legs on and— a little hook to hang small bags or items. Probably not strong enough for a backpack though! In the seat pocket, there’s a Sakura Kanko safety guide, and as I was reading it, I discovered something shocking— Apparently, drinking alcohol is *not allowed* on this bus! *Guess I’d have to do more than apologize if I had a beer…* There’s even a perfect cup holder for beer cans, though! But yeah, I’m totally fine. I’m on a “no alcohol” streak. Totally fine. 👍 There’s also a footrest down below— which honestly makes a huge difference in comfort. And here’s the main highlight: the private curtain! It’s totally opaque—no see-through at all. So no awkward “morning eye contact” with your seat neighbor! You can chill without a care. Up on the ceiling, there’s an air vent you can adjust and— a reading light too, but… for some reason, it doesn’t work tonight. *Usually even night buses let you use it… wonder why not here.* Anyway, the seat features are actually pretty impressive overall. I’ll do my best to master them before we reach Osaka! If you pull the lever on the left side— the leg rest pops out like magic! It’s surprisingly helpful, honestly. You wake up feeling way less tired. There’s even a USB Type-A port for charging devices. And if you flip up the right armrest— you’ll find an outlet perfectly built in! Horizontal ones tend to come loose when the bus moves, so this setup gets bonus points from me. And this lever here controls the reclining seat. *Might take me the whole trip to figure it out though.* 😂 But wait—there’s even more hidden features! There’s a secret little door on the left armrest… and inside—ta-da! A fold-out mini table! Perfect spot to line up two or three beers and— uh, I mean, to get ready in the morning or enjoy the view. 😅 *Seriously, not drinking tonight. Promise.* 🍵 Of course, the headrest moves up and down too. So even if I hit a growth spurt while I’m asleep, I’m good… right? 😂 Alright, the moment you’ve been waiting for—full recline time. Here we go. Whoa… it goes back this far? And this isn’t even all the way. I asked the person behind me if it’s okay to recline, so let’s test it once. Okay, that’s a bit too far… I’d feel bad, so I’ll keep it to the bare minimum. If no one were behind me, this would’ve been an S-tier win… So far I’m super satisfied—no complaints at all. Alright, quick break. Good night. An hour after departure— we arrived at Yokohama City Air Terminal. It’s about a 4-minute walk from JR Yokohama Station, so the access is pretty great. From here to Kyoto, we’ll pass through three service areas on the way. *Just noticed the license plate is 8739 (“hana saku” = flowers bloom). Cute!* We’ve arrived at Ebina Service Area. I was totally out. As soon as we pulled in, I snapped awake. The seat reclines really far, but if you overdo it, it bothers the person behind you, so I didn’t recline that much, and it’s still super comfy. Ebina Service Area—so nostalgic. Let’s pop inside. By the way, it’s around 1:00 a.m. right now. Wow… it’s 1 a.m. and the souvenir shops are still open! I’ve been to Ebina so many times, I pretty much know what they sell. That looks so good—macarons! I want one. A bunch of the restaurants are still open and everything looks yummy, but— if I’m not back by 1:10, the bus will leave without me, so I probably can’t stop to eat. *Kabiiin…* Somehow made it back to the bus just in time. Successfully avoided being left behind. Lights-out now, so I’m going back to sleep for round two. Bye, Ebina—see you again on my Japan-wide road trip! We’ve just arrived at the second service area! Wait—this is Morimachi?! That’s super close to my hometown! I’m shocked! I was totally passed out, woke up like, “Where even am I?” Turns out… we’re right near my parents’ house. 😂 My eyes are all fluttery from waking up too fast… *4:23 a.m. — Arrived at Enshū Morimachi SA (outbound).* It’s actually my first time stopping at this SA. *Only the Daily Yamazaki convenience store was open.* It’s not that big inside, but hey—no crowds, so I’m happy. I’ve officially hit my limit, so… back to sleep again. Good night till morning! Good morning! I slept way too well… ended up sleeping through the third SA. 😅 But honestly, that just means the seat was *too* comfy! At this rate, I might become a Sakura Kanko devotee before we reach Kyoto. 😂 I turned the camera on about ten seconds after waking up, so sorry if I sound even groggier than usual. After that, I fell right back asleep, but— apparently my camera was recording forty minutes of me sleeping with a totally unusable face. 😭 *What a waste of SD-card space.* I forgot to mention this yesterday, but— there’s actually a restroom on board. It’s down the stairs, on the “B1 floor.” It’s the typical kind of toilet you find on night buses, but honestly, having one makes a *huge* difference! Not that I ever use it though—seriously, I don’t! 😂 Current time: 7:57 a.m. The scenery is starting to look more and more like Kyoto! Since the bus sits higher than cars, you get this cool elevated view of everything. “We’ll soon be arriving at Kyoto Hachijō-dōri Street.” I swear Kyoto Station is a maze just like Tokyo Station— one day, I’m gonna conquer it. I get lost every single time… *Actually, I get lost pretty much anywhere.* 😅 After about forty minutes from Kyoto, we’re almost at Osaka Umeda Station! That was honestly such a comfortable night-bus trip—I don’t wanna get off! “Thank you for riding Sakura Highway Bus.” “We truly appreciate your patronage.” “We look forward to serving you again.” *Back to feeling like an English-listening test again.* Thank you so much! *Sorry, Osaka folks—looks like the rain-girl has arrived.* ☔️ I’ve just arrived at Umeda Station! I literally just woke up, so I’ll stay masked for now. 😅 I’m heading straight to the event venue now! I honestly don’t know Osaka that well, so— I’ll be following navigation while I walk too. I’m sure everyone from Kansai already knows this place, but— I’m going to HEP Hall, which is inside HEP FIVE! *From JR Osaka Station’s Midosuji South Exit, just walk straight!* It’s been about five months since my last event! I’m sooo excited! I finally get to see everyone again after five months! It’s my first-ever event in Kansai, so maybe I’ll get to meet some people for the first time too! I can’t wait! If you’re from Kansai, you probably don’t even need directions, so you might be thinking, “Yuuka, we got this.” 😂 But just in case, for everyone visiting from other prefectures— I’ll give a quick guide anyway! *Honestly, I’m the last person you should trust with directions.* 😅 I think it’s pretty close from Umeda Station— the site said it’s about a 5-minute walk. *If you keep walking straight, you’ll see a Sumitomo Mitsui Bank.* *Almost there!* Oh—there it is! That big red Ferris wheel is the landmark! The venue’s inside that building. Photo time! Yay! ✨ The hall’s on the 8th floor of the building behind me. Alright, let’s head inside! This event venue is in such an amazing location— it’s literally right in front of Osaka Station! So you can totally turn it into a sightseeing trip too! If you’re coming from outside Osaka, sightseeing is highly recommended! I’ve also posted some Osaka travel videos before, so check out my *Japan Road Trip with Papa Clipper* series too! The event will be held on January 30th and 31st—two days total! On the 30th, I’m planning a little pre-party, and the 31st will be the main event! I’d love to do a toast with everyone on the 30th too, and we’ll also have an early sale of *GORON*! *The 30th might actually be the best time to chat more relaxed!* Let’s totally do a toast together! 🥂 At the event, I’ll be singing, dancing, chatting with everyone— and even taking photos together! It’s gonna be jam-packed with fun, so— make sure you grab your tickets while they’re still available! Link’s in the description below. 🎫 That’s all I can show for now— but I’ll be waiting for you all on the big day! This was my first time riding the Sakura Kanko Relax 3 night bus, and honestly, the private curtain was such a lifesaver! I get super embarrassed if people see my sleeping face— so I’m glad no one had to witness that mess. 😅 Overall it was a bit tight, though— especially the aisle—it was really narrow. So if you’re planning to ride it, I’d recommend the left-side row— that’s the driver’s side when facing forward. It felt just a little more spacious over there. But compared to a regular 4-row night bus, this was *way* more comfortable! For about $37— I’d say it’s totally worth it! Next time I go to Osaka, I’ll definitely ride it again. Thank you so much for watching till the very end! If you enjoyed this video, please subscribe, leave a comment, and give it a thumbs up! See you at HEP Hall! Bye bye! 👋
