Before prison, this man was an Olympic legend. Oscar Ptorius made history in 2012 as the first double amputee to compete in the Olympics. But in 2013, everything changed. Ptorius shot and killed his girlfriend, Reva Steen Camp, claiming he thought she was an intruder. He’s found guilty. He was later convicted of murder and sentenced to 13 years and 5 months in prison. Now, the twist. On January 5th, 2024, Ptorius was released on parole after serving about 9 years. He is now under strict parole conditions until 2029.
