【映画Vlog】3日間で興行収入12.5億越え劇場版「チェンソーマン レゼ篇」の2つの魅力
I came to my usual theater right away to watch the brand-new film “Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc.” Since the TV anime was said to have flopped and maybe because of the story’s nature, the theater lobby’s promotion was pretty modest. 😅 For me, it was more like, “Well, I should at least check out MAPPA’s latest work.” At that point, anyway…!! So this new character Reze is the main focus, enough to have her name in the title. A gorgeous lady indeed. That was my level of understanding as someone who hadn’t read the manga. At that point, anyway…!! Socks with sandals—that’s my comfy style, especially for watching movies. Got the special guidebook for attendees, and now, time to watch! Reze’s visuals are just so good…! That’s why I bought this. I usually don’t buy much merchandise, but the visuals were too good—I had to get something. I couldn’t resist buying this one. What I really wanted was the official movie pamphlet. But it was sold out, so I couldn’t get it. Still, the booklet that came as a theater bonus was really packed with content. It covered character design, interviews, even aspects of the art direction. It was so detailed I thought, “Wait, isn’t this the official pamphlet?” So I was really glad to at least get this. If you’re still hesitating about going, I think it’s worth it while this booklet is available. The film “Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc” was so good that I’m recording my first review with audio, just to capture this excitement as it is. I thought about why it was so amazing all night. I’ll share the two points I found the best. First is the visuals. I think anyone who saw it would feel the same. The character designs, the action scenes—it’s all included. The visuals were just outstanding. The action scenes had swirling, shifting angles and were super aggressive. As an anime fan, I’ve seen a lot of works. Recently I’ve watched things like “Demon Slayer” and “Jujutsu Kaisen.” But this one was the best among them. It’s no exaggeration to say it had the best action scenes of any anime film I’ve ever watched. MAPPA really outdid themselves! (And now, sliding into my second highlight…) One big feature of this work is how many characters have completely “glitched” views on life and death. Their values regarding life and death, basically. The protagonist, for instance, sees colleagues die around him all the time. Yet he’s mostly just interested in living happily himself. He takes death lightly, brushing it off. (Well, he himself died once and came back, after all…!) In contrast, there are characters driven by vengeance after their families were killed by devils. The coexistence of such opposing values makes the work feel uniquely crazy. That’s true for both the TV anime and this film. With death lurking so close throughout, the protagonist is shown discovering the joys of ordinary things—like romance and working. I found that contrast really interesting. Especially the romance in this film. This crazy kid having such a normal romance (while fighting to the death) really drew me in. If you haven’t seen it yet, I think focusing on that part will let you enjoy the film even more! Even after a whole night, the excitement of “I’ve never seen anything this amazing!” hasn’t worn off. It’s been a while since I felt this kind of impact hit me so hard. Thanks so much for watching until the end!
