Hello, we have action this time. It’s come from Agent on Patreon. We’re going in with Lola Young’s brand new album. It’s called I’m Only [ __ ] Myself. The album cover, she has a bald doll of her. So hilarious. Bloody song titles. I’m so keen for the last song. You’re an absolute c-word. An interlude. Who effing cares? Can we ignore it? Sad sub story. F everyone. Very keen. She had her album come out last year that I reacted to. It is on the channel. This wasn’t meant to. This wasn’t for you anyway. So yeah, very keen. It’s like such a quick turnaround. So obviously she, you know, she’s got those creative juices flowing. She’s ready to go in with it. She had the big hit cuz I’m so messy. So yeah, very keen to see what’s on this album, what she’s got to say. Obviously very intriguing voice, very cool lyricist. She’s very relatable and just, you know, says it how it is, which is exciting. Following Cat is on Patreon as always. Let’s get it cracked. Boom. All right. Nothing to say. The opening song is How Long Will It Take to Walk a Mile interlude as well. All right, so she’s opening the album book ends. Let’s get But I’m actually really grateful for life. I’m grateful for you. I’m grateful that I’m here and I’m making art. I wonder if this is her when she’s younger that there are cows. I’m grateful that the grass is safe and well. I’m grateful. I’m grateful for you, Lola. Just gave me a message. How long will it take to walk a mile? Like what? 45 minutes. This is from a friend. Very cool. Next song’s everyone. Let’s go. Well, like the opening song really. Yes. To this sound. going love the stories. Hey, little toxic spiralin. Oh my god. I mean, yeah, she’s effing everyone. Damn. It’s obviously sad stuff, but I just cool little sounds in that. Yeah, I love the sounds. I mean, yeah, sick going like in between your ears. Very cool way to open up the album. Obviously, we had the interlude, but this is, you know, the fullyfledged song. Definitely sets the scene. Sounds so cool. That little rocky chickity coming in. Wants to do all those things. I guess that’s when you’re not in the right headsp space or you just don’t really care. You don’t want to care. Uh, so yeah, it’s obviously not a great place to be in, but then, you know, that just it is what it is, I suppose. Next song’s One Thing. Now, I actually reacted to this in June. I totally forgot. So, yeah, this was a lead single, I’m pretty sure. I actually haven’t listened to it since, so I’m keen to go back in with it, you know, within the album. Let’s go. Oh, yeah. I remember the video clip of this. It was actually very cool. Lots of sexy time. Yes. This car is Lola. She is not being a good girl. Maybe the album’s like not literal sex, but just like messing yourself up. I cut empty. It’s definitely such a more chill vibe. I think F everyone could have been a really cool lead single. Obviously, yeah, it’s just not as mainstreamable. Yeah, cute, easy one. Definitely. I don’t I think it I wish it stayed on the same route as F everyone and maybe we’ll get back there. Yeah, Video Clip was really cool for that one. Uh just Yeah, the song’s okay. Like it’s a pleasant easy song. I think when you’ve got something just so in your face as F everyone, I think if it doesn’t live up to that, maybe that song maybe just track this should be further down. I don’t know. We’ll see how the rest of the album goes. Next song is Dealer with a little pound sign is the E. Very cute. Let’s go. Pretty little voice. Cute. I love this little vulnerability. Yes. God, I love this chills. I mean, hopefully she’s not doing anymore. Oh, so she’s leaving. So, she’s going to tell her dealer she’ll miss him, but she needs to get away from this dude. Let’s go. This is funky. Love not long enough. Yeah, a lot of her songs have that like kind of gotcha moment where you think it’s about something and then you know it’s about something else. Love that. Oh my god. Love that sound. That is so cool. Freeing funkylicious. Yeah, definitely should be longer. That and F everyone are such the vibe. one thing just feels way too safe and I feel like it’s just on there to try and get a hit. Whereas these ones just have that real vulnerability and rawness to them and just funky production. I love next song. Spiders in capitals. Let’s go. Sounds like some little live number. Stunning. Let’s go see you bleed for a woman. Yeah, this is so good. So raw, so polished, but not like the production’s solid. Interesting as well. Like you’re not a man, I’m not a woman if we don’t have each other. Interesting take or like saying, I guess. Poor little spiders. It’s definitely like a bronze from Buffy song. Like you could just see it being performed there. Her voice on this song. I’m not incomplete. I’m not a woman if I don’t have you. I’m not a woman if I don’t. I’m not ine. Damn. Very, very pretty. Stunning song. Jared and William with her on that one. They’ve done most of the songs. Yeah, stunning little number. Definitely a very sad h sad little angsty one. Very, very cool. Very nice. Love the sound. Like her voice in that one. Absolutely so strong. Like I said, you just got that rawness throughout which just makes one thing. I’m not going to bang on about it anymore, but it just makes it such a standout track in terms of just so simple when all these are so, you know, diverse and have so much going on. Number six is here. Favorite number is going to penny out of nothing. Let’s go. Oh, is that from another song? Yeah. I think that’s messy, right? Oh, it’s very similar vibe to Messi lyricwise. God, her voice can just change. Don’t walk away. I’m not done lying to your face. God, all that production behind that as well. This is such a strong album so far. I love just like the sonic journey you’re going on with the album as well. depressing. So, it’s just kind of like she can do anything like she can always like find a way to get something very cool. So much coolness in that production behind her voice and her voice just sounds so different. But obviously it’s there, but just the way she can transform it within these songs is so cool. Such a cool tracklisting. Like it’s just all flowing so well other than one thing. Love that. Such an interesting song as well. Just such a a cool one. Like a nice moment to really just fall in with her. Next song’s Walk All Over You. I’m Scared. Let’s go. Oh, maybe we’re going to be a bit happier. So funny these people exist. I’m like, I’ve just never met anyone like this. It’s funny like loving a dog cuz obviously like people love animals unconditionally. Very cute. Clever. It’s cute but sad. I like that. Like just pulling the man card. It’s very It’s so clever. Hey, cute. Cute little one. Very cute. Obviously, like there’s still stuff going on with the production, but the most like one of the most simplest songs. Like it just feels like a like little cutic song, chatting to a friend and like just hearing about their problems. I really like that just that relatability and connectability you can have with her. Very clever lyrics, very cute song. I love that one. Next song’s Post Sex Clarity. Let’s go. We’re back. Some very, very cool sounds on this album. Cute. That’s so cute. Stunning. Goosebumps. That is so cute. What a such a relatable thing. Such a good album. My god, this is actually so good. myself. My god. That song. What a what a beautiful beautiful message. Cuz you love them. Cuz they make you feel good. Damn. Everything behind that, that chorus. God, I want that on repeat. That is stunning. probably doesn’t need all this, but definitely such a such a standout moment. I love that. Absolutely precious, incredible, cute. Just having that someone that you can be, I guess, really trust and feel safe around them in those intimate moments. And yeah, they just make you feel okay for I guess maybe the stuff you’re not confident with or feel comfortable with or you’re insecure about. And yeah, after it all, you still want to be around them, which is the best feeling, obviously, and that’s how it should be. So yeah, what a beautiful, beautiful, precious song. All her lyric and like subject matter. It’s so normal, but you don’t really hear about it. So that’s why it’s just so refreshing and so connectable. She’s such a cool chick. Yeah. Love it. Next song. Sad sub story with a smiley face. Let’s get out. Guess I had to let you go in the first place, but I don’t Instagram. So true. Sad story cuz I won’t read it anyway. Mhm. Yeah, such growth. I like that. A pretty piano under it. Little like rain or something in there. God, she calls people out, doesn’t she? I love it. Quite an empowering song as well. I think like for women especially. Yeah, very cool. Such a nice closer closure of a song and like really good growth for her. I like hearing this. I wonder if most of her sad songs were like breaking for about one dude cuz all similar stuff like they’re a bum, they don’t have a job, they’re angry and all that. Maybe she just dates really bad people. Very cute. I love that. Again, sad soap story. I thought it was going to be about her life and I suppose it is, but it’s like someone else like I don’t care about your sad soap story. I love that. Very cute. Very pretty. Again, so simple but so deep within what she’s talking about. Next song’s in caps again. Can we ignore it? Sad face. Hey, such a good album. I think Lolorey said there’s people who Damn. Yeah, I think a lot of people struggle with that stuff by finding someone who connects with you. Nah, like you can’t just ignore it, babe. Sorry. Yeah. Again, all that production noise so good. like that bleeding. Ah, such a tough one cuz obviously it’s like you can’t ignore it cuz it’s not going to go away and like what ignoring it for one day is that just prolonging the inevitable. Yeah, very cool song. I love that. It’s like just that plead and sadness and everything. It’s just such a such a strong chorus and everything just so cool. Just so good. So good. I know it’s simple, but it’s that’s all I can say. The next song is Why Do I Feel Better When I Hurt You? Let’s go. So good. Just flows so well. Hey, not good but relatable. always so hostile their fights like get physical and full on like just that that God so smooth. Just fall into that. Oh dear. Very sad. It’s such a beautiful song. Like you just fall into that. Obviously. Yeah. A lot of stuff going on with inside her and you know projecting and all that. Super relatable. Just a beautiful beautiful song. My god. The next song is not like that anymore. Let’s go. Little quit la. Not good. Yes. Hey Yeah, I guess it’s empowering, right? Relatable. Yeah, it is cute. Nowhere to go. Cute. Some cute little empowering moments here on this album. Yeah. cute little empowering number. She’s just funny. She’s so relatable. Literally, other than one thing, which is fine. There’s not a single skip on this album. We’re at the last song and then you got the interludes. I’m going to go in with this last song as like the last song cuz while it opened, I do think F everyone was a better like a stronger opening. It’s called Who [ __ ] Cares? Let’s go. Oh, I thought it might be a bit of a banger closer. even like the way I look. Take my medication. It’s been days, but I’ve been busy getting truths. Literally that radio forive and I might get there in the damn what a vulnerable album. live is to try and slowly die. And I should probably find a new explanation what it’s like. Yes. This is so precious. That like to be. Oh my god. So you get that vulnerability and then she like stunning. What a beautiful moment. What a beautiful song. I’m just going to let it roll into you’re an absolute cword. Not me. To feel is to be open. Feel is to be present deep in adolescence. I love to feel, but I don’t want to die. But it’s only in the moments that I feel a little high. And then everything else hurts deep inside. It feels like another one of her songs into my left hand. I like each day. It twinkles in the night. Silly. [ __ ] That was incredible. Just come up with that. You [ __ ] absolute God, bro. And that’s the end of the album. Goodbye. So, is that like her friend coming up with that? Like poetry, I guess. Or it just sounds like one of her other songs, but I don’t know if it’s just like the way it’s been delivered. What an album. My god. Like I said, not a single skip other than one thing for me, which is hilarious cuz the lead single just doesn’t hit as hard. But yeah, F everyone dealer. Just so strong, so funky, so raw. My god, everything else. Post Sex Clarity is absolutely my favorite one that is like just so tearjerking, so sad, so vulnerable. Everything after that is so personal, relatable, connectable. She’s absolutely such a cool chick. Like, this is such a strong album. I definitely prefer this one. And I don’t think that’s just a recent bias. Like, listening, I just think it’s just so solid, so smooth, so well produced, but still sounds so authentic and real and raw and just not produced at all. What do you guys think?
