ロサンゼルス市役所で障害者中心のLA28オリンピック・パラリンピック競技大会に関するパブリックコメントが行われた。
We were one of two disability organizations that served on the LA28 local hire and workforce development working group since its inception in 2023. I’ve been disabled for nearly 30 years and an advocate for more than half of that. And I’m so excited that LA will be hosting its first parolympic games because of the opportunities it will create for our community and the legacy it will leave on disability inclusion. My perspective was sharpened by attending the Paris games last year where I saw both the progress and the ongoing access challenges underscoring how critical it is that LA28 ensure the disability community is not just included but centered. The impact and sustainability plan’s focus on inclusive hiring, accessibility, and opportunities for small local businesses are critical steps to ensure the games empower the disability community and all Angelinos. I hope the city ensures its commitments translate into a better Los Angeles for all of us. Thank you.
