さえない中年オヤジが内に秘めた本性を覚醒させる大ヒットアクション映画の続編。前作の決闘から4年後、休日返上昼夜を問わず任務を請け負っていた主人公・ハッチは家庭崩壊に追い込まれ、妻や子どもたちとの関係修復を兼ねてバカンスを計画する。しかし、旅先のリゾート地は、裏で巨悪組織を率い、薬物と汚職にまみれた警官を支配する女帝の密輸ルートだった。地元保安官とトラブルになったハッチは、家族サービス返上で巨悪組織との全面戦争に挑む。

監督は、『ヘッド・ショット』『シャドー・オブ・ザ・ナイト』などで知られるインドネシアの鬼才ティモ・ジャイヤント。主演のボブ・オデンカーク、コニー・ニールセン、クリストファー・ロイドらが続投し、新たに『氷の微笑』のシャロン・ストーンが悪役を務める。
