ハワイのビーチで過ごす女1人旅、こんな事になるなんて…
Hey guys, it’s Yuuka here! Right now, I’m in Hawaii! I’ve always wanted to come here, so I’m seriously super excited right now! And when you think Hawaii, you think Waikiki Beach, right? I flew in yesterday, and once I landed, I decided to check out Waikiki Beach. But oh my gosh, it was packed—so many people! I was like, “Yeah… no way I can wear a swimsuit and film here.” Totally chickened out… So I just went back home (retreat!). But then I found out it’s pretty empty in the early morning! So today, I’m giving Waikiki Beach another shot—super early. It’s still not even 6am yet. I woke up at 4 and got everything ready. Now I’m off to enjoy it all! Let’s gooo! Honestly, I never thought I’d get to come to Hawaii for a video shoot. Just walking around here makes me so happy! Yesterday afternoon, I went to Waikiki Beach again. What time was it? Like 1pm, maybe? And wow—SO many people. There were bodies literally everywhere, lying around, or walking all over the place. There was zero room for me to squeeze in… I really hope it’s more chill today. *Spotted: a McDonald’s in Hawaii!* I wonder if the menu is different? Kinda wanna check it out. But I better hit the beach first— it’s gonna get crowded soon! I’ll go later for sure. Finally made it to Waikiki Beach! Thanks to waking up early, there’s way fewer people than yesterday! Thank goodness! Isn’t the view just gorgeous? That sunrise is absolutely stunning. This is the famous Waikiki Beach everyone talks about! The ocean stretches out forever—it’s unreal. My excitement is through the roof! I literally just got to Hawaii, but… That way is where the Sheraton Hotel is. And over there—well, you can’t see it right now— but that’s the direction of Diamond Head! Okay, time to step onto Waikiki Beach sand for the first time! [QUIZ] What’s my first impression of Hawaiian sand? Nice sand… I guess? 😅 Oh no… now I’m starting to feel kinda shy… Literally feels like only extroverts hang out here. Maybe I’ll just dip my toes in a little… But wow, the waves are stronger than I thought. There’s a breakwater over that way, so maybe I’ll chill over there. Safety first! I’m basically a total ocean noob… I think I’ll retreat for now. *Yes, I’ve been in the ocean in winter, but still a noob.* So I actually bought this aloha shirt back in Japan. But once I got here, they’re literally sold everywhere. Totally didn’t need to bring one from home. Made in Japan! *JK, checked the tag—Made in Vietnam.* To make the most of the beach day, I brought a bunch of stuff with me from Japan. First things first, I need to find my base. Somewhere with fewer people and a good vibe. Alrighty, I think this spot will be my HQ. *Yuuka has claimed a base!* Step one… Also brought this from Japan— a beach blanket to lay out just like this. Boom, base established. This is what I was dreaming of doing! Yesterday there wasn’t even space to lay this down— it was completely packed with people. So glad I came early today. Right now there are surfers and a few people playing around, and a bunch of couples too. But as for someone just chilling solo like me— not a single person in sight. Is that weird…? (I have no self-awareness) Anyway, before the beach gets too crowded, time to get changed! Coming to Hawaii has always been a dream of mine. I love warm places so much! I’ve wanted to come forever, and yesterday I flew here for just 37,000 yen— that’s like $250! Way cheaper than I expected, honestly. Even taking a car to Okinawa probably costs more than that. You definitely couldn’t do it for this cheap. So when you compare it, $250 to Hawaii… isn’t that such a deal?? Hawaii is full of super cheerful, outgoing people— honestly makes me wonder if it’s too much for my introvert self. By lunchtime, all the extroverts start showing up in groups. So the only times left for introverts like me are early mornings or late nights. I actually tried coming last night too, but it was suuuper dark… and honestly kind of scary, so I bailed. So yeah, nighttime is a no for me! So yeah, I’m planning to head back around 10am. Gotta leave before the crowd takes over! Got changed! Yaaay! Alright, let’s not waste any time— time to hit the ocean! The fewer the people, the more fun it is! So I’m diving in before it gets packed. I’m all set for the water now! Took my mic off too. Here I gooo! Wait—walking barefoot is kinda rough… My feet hurt a little. Ouch. Ooh—it’s warm! The water’s actually really nice and warm! Love that. How far should I go in? Might as well explore a bit farther out! *Bonus scenes coming for members only!* Aahh! It’s cold!! Hold up… give me a sec… *Too cold… feels like training camp.* Still, the ocean is amazing. It’s so much fun! The hotel I’m staying at is in a really good location too. I looked for something budget-friendly, but it still ended up being about $110 a night. That’s actually considered cheap here. It’s called Pacific Monarch— that’s where I’m staying right now. And honestly, it’s been super fun and comfy! They even have lemon water on the first floor, and you can drink as much as you want! I’ve basically been surviving on that all day. Saving money! I did buy bottled water earlier though, and it was like $4! I’m broke. The prices here are insane! And it’s still before sunrise, so honestly… it’s freezing. So cooold! *My wallet is shivering too.* With how expensive everything is, I was thinking of doing a “$65 in Hawaii” challenge— but I have a feeling I’ll blow through that money in no time. Not even sure if that plan’s gonna work out! Like, if you want to eat good food, you’ll easily go over budget. But if you stick to places like McDonald’s or quick bites, you can probably eat for like $20–$30. Yesterday I had this huge craving for steak, so I went to this place called Duke’s. And yeah… the bill was kinda wild. Almost $100. (around 15,000 yen) Total wallet destruction… I didn’t think it’d be that pricey, so I ordered like usual— but my English is super basic… So I just went with whatever they recommended. And of course, they recommended the expensive stuff. Yeah… I totally messed that one up. When I get home, I really wanna start taking English classes. Alright, time for a little break. Us introverts gotta take breaks like this from time to time. Unlike the extroverts, I can’t go full energy all day long. *Actually that’s just a stamina issue.* who break (aka: me) I just picked up a few things from a nearby shop. Some drinks, and some fruit. And the guy was like, “Our bananas are awesome too!” So I ended up buying one. Hope it tastes good! Okay then, cheers! Hey look, it matches the color of my swimsuit! I was *this* close to cracking open a beer at the beach, but Hawaii laws saved me from drinking—thanks, Hawaii! Tastes great. Mmm, melon. Hawaii’s warmth really brings out the sweetness in fruit—it’s so good! This melon was super tasty but cost like $20! I’m seriously on the brink of going broke. Oh yeah—so there’s this place called Kualoa Ranch where they filmed Jurassic Park. I booked a buggy tour there! …Until two days ago. I was really looking forward to it. The site said you need an international driver’s license, so the day before my trip to Hawaii, I went to the license center to get one. But turns out, it was a Sunday and… the center was closed! I had no idea and couldn’t get my license in time… So I had to cancel the whole thing. I was honestly crushed. *Should’ve brought my watermelon and just gone to “Water & Fire”… sigh.* I was seriously SO excited for it. I really, really wanted to ride it… So yesterday, I took a little walk and ended up at this place called Honolulu Harbor. It was actually pretty far—took over an hour on foot. And when I got there, this massive ship was docked! I was like, “Wait, what ship is this?” Turned out it was the Asuka II! Can you believe I ran into the Asuka II in Hawaii!? I’ve always wanted to ride it. I mention it all the time in my cruise videos. Like, “I really wanna go on the Asuka II someday.” I can’t believe I met it… here in Hawaii. So wild. *Like some kind of drama-worthy encounter (with a ship).* The banana that guy sold me is actually tasty. But like… if the Asuka II comes all the way from Japan, how long does that even take? The other day I went from Nagoya to Hokkaido, and that took 40 hours by ferry… So maybe like a week for Hawaii? It’s seriously super far. I looked it up—one-way cruise takes 12 days and costs from $6,500 😭 The sun’s finally starting to come up—it’s getting warmer. I love warm weather, so part of me wants sunshine, but I also want fewer people… inner conflict. Total dilemma… Not that I have any say in the matter, but you know. I thought Hawaii would be blazing hot, but it’s actually cooler than Japan. Mornings and evenings get kind of cold. Like, it’s chilly if you’re just in a T-shirt! Totally caught me off guard. *Maybe Japan’s just TOO hot.* When you think Hawaii, you think “Aloha,” right? Well, people actually say it all the time! I keep hearing “Aloha” and “Mahalo” everywhere I go. *They mean “hello,” “goodbye,” “love you,” and stuff in Hawaiian.* Locals use “Mahalo” a lot—it means “thank you.” *FYI: Mahalo = Thanks in Hawaiian* Other words they use are “Mana” and “Pono.” And you know what? You guys are… my ‘Ohana 💖 I hope you all think of me as your ‘Ohana too! Not “ohana” like flowers though— Well, I guess flower’s fine too. Once I finish eating, I might go for one more swim, then head out for breakfast or something! The sunlight started coming from this side, so I moved over here. Still not many people around—love that! Guess extroverts like to sleep in, huh? Uh-oh… now that the sun’s up, it’s suddenly suuuper bright. *Got my floatie from the ABC Store!* *Still no extroverts, so I can party in peace.* This is so fun! I could’ve brought one from Japan, but buying one here was only like $7. Kinda pricey, sure— but it’s easier, so I just got it locally. Oh! And aside from the hotel I’m staying at now, I actually found this other cute hotel and went ahead and booked it! I’ll make a video about that one too, so stay tuned! I’m so excited! It’s a hotel I’ve always dreamed of staying at. [Hint] It flashed on screen a second ago 👀 Whenever I travel, I love checking out different hotels. So I often switch places mid-trip. But moving all my stuff is honestly a pain… Still, staying at more hotels feels like a better deal. And it’s more fun too—so I always end up doing it. But yeah, it’s non-stop for me from here on out. Hawaii totally lives up to the palm tree image— like, they’re actually everywhere! Just like I pictured it, and I love it. It’s warming up a bit, which is awesome! But people are starting to show up… so it’s complicated. Still, floating like this feels amazing. I could stay like this forever. *Don’t worry, I’m always floating through life anyway!* Gotta enjoy it while introverts still have rights out here. Currently freaking out that my camera might tip over any second. *?!* *Camera has entered the splash zone* *Underwater = you get to see fish = advantage over land* Can you see them? So cool. Seeing fish made me way too excited! Hula Grill Waikiki Back from the beach! Now I’m at this place called Hula Grill. I found it on Google Maps—just picked one with tons of reviews. Gave it a shot, and… total jackpot! The view is absolutely amazing. It’s a bit overexposed right now, but… you can actually see the ocean from over there. And in the other direction, there’s the Royal Hawaiian! Seriously, the view is insane. *Feeling fancy so I ordered coffee even though I never drink it.* Bitter. Yesterday I stopped by the Royal Hawaiian too, just to check it out for a bit. The whole building is totally pink— it was suuuper cute. Not sure if I’ll get another chance to come back to Hawaii, but if I do, I really wanna stay there. *Total bucket list vibes* Ordering food is kinda tough for me, so I always take pics and send them to ChatGPT. I’m like, “Which one looks the yummiest?” It already knows what I like, so it basically picks for me. Bestie mode. My Kahuna Burrito just arrived! It looks seriously delish. Portions here in Hawaii are definitely on the big side. Hope I can finish it all… Let’s dig in! There’s sausage and eggs inside. The flavor is… hmm… hard to describe. *We didn’t learn food reviews in school, OK?* This place, Hula Grill, is actually on the second floor of a hotel called Outrigger. And on the first floor, there’s a steakhouse called Duke’s— which I actually went to yesterday! So this is my second time coming to this hotel. When I pick places to eat, I usually go by the number of reviews on Google Maps, and it’s been working out! I’ve been hitting the jackpot every time lately. Reviews really do help a lot. *If you’re stuck in Hawaii, Duke’s and Hula Grill are a solid bet!* You might be thinking, “Can you even walk into a place dressed like that?” But honestly, lots of people come in wearing swimsuits, or clothes that are way more revealing than this. So I’m actually on the modest side, lol. No one even looks twice. It’s a chill way to live. *Wearing what you love = happiness* It’s around 10 a.m. right now, so kind of a late breakfast. Or should I say… brunch? Gotta keep it fancy. There’s a strong cilantro flavor in this, and it’s got a yummy, kinda ethnic vibe. I can’t believe I’m seeing palm trees this close! It’s definitely getting more crowded now that it’s closer to lunchtime. I’ve seriously wanted to come to Hawaii forever— so just chilling like this feels like a dream. I wanna share some Hawaii vibes with you too, so I hope you’re enjoying this video! That was delicious! Seriously so good. Great food, amazing view—10/10. Totally stuffed now. I got to hang out at my dream spot—Waikiki Beach! The views were incredible, and breakfast was so tasty— I had the best time. I did fall off my floatie at one point, so now my hair’s a mess, but hey— even that became a great memory. I’ve got plans to explore more of Hawaii after this, so you can expect more videos coming soon! Hope you’re looking forward to them! It’s officially noon now, and the beach is getting super packed. The extroverts are starting to roll in… So if you’re an introvert like me, I recommend hitting the beach early in the morning. Seriously, waking up early was totally worth it. I think I’ll take a quick nap now to recharge a bit. Thanks so much for watching all the way to the end! If you enjoyed it, please hit like, comment, and don’t forget to subscribe 💕 Okay, bye-bye!
