Hi, I’m Roa Fala. I’m 13 years old and I play Lou in the film Kido. Um, and I’m going to answer some questions about myself and about the movie. Um, so let’s go. How did you feel when you got the role? Um, I was so happy. I think I was at home when I heard I got the role, but I was so happy that um, Sara, the director, wanted me to be Lou. um because I like the scene so much and I liked Sara so much. So yeah, I was very happy. Uh please tell us if you had any difficulties playing Lou. Um no, not really. Um I think because Lou is also a bit the same as me, so sometimes it was just very natural. And we also did uh rehearsals with Sara. Um and we got to know our characters um pretty good. And yeah, that made it also easier to play Lou. Uh do you think you have something in common with Lou and yourself? Um yeah, like I said, I think she’s a bit the same as me in some ways. She’s also a bit shy sometimes. I also am sometimes. Um but in some ways a little less the same as me. Um she just really wants to be with her mother and would do anything for it even if sometimes she doesn’t really like what they’re doing. Um but yeah I think in some way she’s the same. Yeah. How did you feel about um playing with Freda? I loved it. Um because we get along very good and she’s so funny and um yeah, I think because we get along very good um it was also easier for me to play Lou because it was very natural and I was very comfortable with her and yeah, I just had so much fun with her. Yeah. Um what kind of direction did you receive from Sara in playing the role of Lou? Um before we would uh shoot a scene, S told me what she had in mind for the scene and how she wanted me to do it. Um but uh Freda and I also got space to improvise or add something to the scene. Um and yeah, S didn’t treat me like I was a little kid, but she really listened to me and that made me very comfortable. and I also had a lot of fun with her and she’s um yeah, she’s very um lovely. Do you have any interest or hobbies outside of acting? Yeah, I do. Um I play soccer in a team four times a week, so that’s a lot. Um but I really enjoy it. Um not as much as acting, but close. But I really like to um play soccer. What are your dreams and goals for the future? Um, I really want to continue acting. I love it so much. And I also want to travel, I think, to maybe Japan. Um, but I really like to see the world. That was it. Um, thank you for listening to me. I hope you all enjoy watching Kido. Um, I think it’s very cool that you’re going to see it. STORY
ママがやって来る！児童養護施設で暮らす11歳の少女ルーのもとに、
離れ離れだった母親のカリーナから突然連絡が入る。
自称ハリウッドスターのカリーナは、再会を喜ぶルーを勝手に施設から連れ出し、
「ポーランドのおばあちゃんのところへ行く」と告げる。
カリーナにはルーとずっと一緒にいるための、ある計画があったのだ。
「人生はゼロか100かよ、お嬢ちゃん」。
ルーは破天荒な言動を見せるカリーナに戸惑いながらも、
母親と一緒にいたいという思いでついていくのだが…。

監督を務めたのは、そのビジュアルセンスと遊び心あふれる作風で注目を集めているオランダの新星、ザラ・ドヴィンガー。
長編デビュー作の本作はベルリン国際映画祭に正式出品、カンヌジュニア映画にも選出され、
本作を鑑賞した映画監督のショーン・ベイカーからも絶賛されるなど、
世界各国から称賛の声が寄せられた。
２人の旅を彩るのはダスティ・スプリングフィールドの「Stay Awhile」や
ペニー・アンド・ザ・クォーターズの「You and Me」など1960～70年代の
印象的なサウンドトラック。アメリカン・ニューシネマへの愛をちりばめた、
どこか懐かしくもまったく新しいロードムービーが誕生した。
