We’ll start the room tour now I live in a 3DK apartment with my family of three I like mid-century and folk art The interior of the room is designed around 1960 I collect a lot of vintage items If you like, I would be happy if you could watch until the end ☺︎ Let me start by showing you the living room The living room was originally 6 tatami mats, but by removing the door to the adjacent 4.5 tatami mat room, We connect the rooms together and use them like a one-room apartment For the floor, I bought wallpaper from Rakuten’s “Wallpaper World” Mortar floor tiles are laid The total came to about 25,000 yen On top of that, I put a custom-made rug from Beni Ourain The size is about 200cm This is a Senufo stool The hand-carved design is attractive This is what sparked my interest in interior design It is a very important item The next low table is Designers who were active during the Showa era From the brand “Yamakawa Rattan” created by Isamu Kenmochi It was previously sold I bought it for about 150,000 yen The iceberg glass candle holder on top is This is a Swedish vintage item purchased on eBay The sofa is from the “ALBERO” series by [unico] The blanket is from the 1960s in Sweden Perhaps because of its age, it is made of high-quality wool and is very fluffy I bought it from a vintage dealer for about 20,000 yen The cushion cover in the foreground is from Beni Ourain I ordered it together with the rug underneath The back is a handmade Moroccan cushion cover This is a traditional Mexican chair called the Equipal chair I had a hard time finding it on the second hand market I found it on Mercari and bought it I like how the color matches the teak furniture This bookshelf is made by the British company G-PLAN I bought it at the vintage shop Rocca Above is a statue made by an African tribe called the Fangs Displaying traditional masks The lighting is “TOLOMEO” by Artemide This is an aluminum box made in Indonesia Incorporating everyday items and traditional designs from around the world I bought it from MUJI’s Found MUJI line Next to it is a plant called “umbellata” The curved trunk is very cute ☺︎ The wood-decorated extension cord was purchased from CIBONE “Cable jewelry” by [BLESS] The price is about 35,000 yen, which is quite expensive for a cord I bought it to use as interior art as well Next is the TV area The TV stand we use is a British sideboard from the 1960s that we received as a gift The lower basket is I bought it at a shop called &VINTAGE in Kitasando Inside is the “PlayStation 5” A Kuba cloth is draped over the top The trash can next to it was purchased at the MoMA Design Store In this way, we are able to separate things I also like the design, it’s very cute The lighting is from the European mid-century period I bought it at [SHARK ATTACK] for about 35,000 yen This shop sells posters from overseas Purchased at [SOONER OR LATER] Paul McCarthy’s art exhibition Above is a photo I bought at Gotokuji Temple A lacquer fan from [niente] is on display The space to the right of the TV The shelf on the left features works by international artists This stool was made in Scandinavia in the 1940s The seat is woven with paper cord An Indian kilim cushion is placed on top The white texture art is my own creation I placed it here to create a sense of unity with the vases on either side This is a Japanese modern vase made in Japan around the 1990s A vintage German serving tray We have lava rocks and Peruvian souvenirs on display On the wall by the window is a mural made by an African tribe called the Baoulé A display of traditional masks, known as “pre-pre masks” It has a unique and good look, it was what I was looking for The wall hanging behind the plant “Everfresh” This is a work by dye artist Samiro Yunoki, using a vintage obi Next to it is a product purchased at [TOKYO RECYCLE imption] There is a Japanese-made 70’s lounge sofa The backrest is made of teak wood and has a cute design It was the deciding factor for my purchase A corner of the living room I use it as a workspace The chair is a Herman Miller Sail Chair I bought it for about 110,000 yen I really like the seating comfort The work desk is I was attracted to the atmosphere that is similar to the designs of the Dutch designer Cees Braakman I bought it at the vintage shop 70B INC. for just under 100,000 yen The balance of metal and wood is cool I’m glad I bought it The desk lighting was sold by FAGERHULTS This is “Germ Standlight” from the 90s I bought it at [nonsense] in Shimokitazawa for just under 20,000 yen It goes well with vintage furniture and is my favorite This is a piece of kumiki woodwork made by Yamanaka Kumiki Koubou in Odawara It is said that industrial designer Sori Yanagi had one in his own home The story begins with the story of how he provided the package design for the kumiki It is a popular mid-century item overseas I have a CableBin from Bluelounge under my desk You can organize your cables and store them neatly The color is similar to teak wood, so I find it very useful I bought it on Rakuten for about 6,000 yen This is a leather mouse pad from Tuscany, Italy I ordered it from a craftsman to fit the width under the desk The back side is black and comes in two colors, which I really like The iPad case was also made by the same craftsman It’s convenient because you can store the entire iPad cover in it The characteristic of this product is that it will develop a glossy finish as you use it I enjoy the changes over time The side of the desk is a shelf This is a small container made of Okinawan pottery “Yachimun” It stores jewelry and other items inside This is also used as an accessory case This is an ashtray I bought at the Front General Store This is the “String Shelf,” a representative Nordic piece of furniture This is the current product purchased from [ACTUS] I keep it next to my desk Here you can find hand creams from [kuoca] and [PLATINUM] “#3776” ballpoint pen Containerized in Romanian pottery I bought this at a vintage pop-up store Next door is a shop called [Playmountain] in Sendagaya The original room spray It comes in a glass bottle, which is very cool I bought the candle holder at Pejite Aoyama For firing ceramic works I heard that it was used in a kiln This looks like a stone, but it’s a candle called “Pum.” At a select shop called FREEPARK in Jiyugaoka I bought it for about 3000 yen The wooden fossil plate underneath is also from [FREEPARK] This is “Fat Lava” This pottery is characterized by its thick lava-like glaze and unique design The “Lora” series sold by Scheurich Purchased from a vintage dealer in Germany The second and third shelves are used to store books, magazines, etc This is called a “lab jack.” This is a table used to adjust the height in laboratories, etc From this characteristic It can also be used as a stand for ornamental plants and small items This wall has a Tom Gormley poster on it Depending on the viewing angle, the spiral design The work shows a woman’s face Purchased at [SOONER OR LATER] The top is decorated with a plant called “Netherlands Staghorn Fern” I bought it at a home improvement store for 2000 yen A cork board was attached to the wall and allowed to grow This is the first plant I have ever grown It’s been a few years, but it’s taken root well and is growing well☺︎ It features a Jasper Morrison-designed There is a light fixture called “GLO-BALL” It is about 180 cm tall Don’t let the room get too soft Mixing cool matte textures and 90s items I try to make it more distinct This is a vintage item from the “String Shelf” mentioned earlier At a shop called “TOKYO RECYCLE imption” I bought it for about 25,000 yen I like the type with a magazine rack underneath, it’s rare I like the scents “Fig” and “Timeless” from APFR I have it stocked here Next to it are art books that I change out depending on my mood I often buy books from a foreign book store in Jiyugaoka I bought this wooden doctor doll at a flea market when [nonsense] in Shimokitazawa had a stall I heard it was purchased from a collector of wooden doctor figurines It’s the second level In the foreground is a small storage box made of Nambu ironware Purchased at HYST in Bakurocho I like the character-like face Behind is “Fat Lava” I think it was the “Cortina” series by Jasba There is a photo album next to it This is a work by one of my favorite potters, Shohei Ono I love the lava rock look I bought it at AELU in Yoyogi-Uehara The wooden carved bird at the back of the first tier is a Peruvian folk art piece Purchased at KOGEISHA in Yokohama The bird sculpture next to it is from Europe and was purchased at a vintage shop called Cerote Antiques in Sendagaya Next to it is a candle from Diptyque Jewelry placed on a petrified wood tray The art is by an artist called BIRDS’ WORDS I bought it at [IDEE] This vase is from Bitossi in the 1950s The top tier is decorated so that the height forms an isosceles triangle This will make the whole shelf fit better and give the space a three-dimensional feel This is a lamp called “Mayday” by the lighting brand FLOS It’s very convenient because you can hang it up like this or carry it around The stool is by Charlotte Perriand This is a reproduction of the “Meribel stool” Silver colored stool and side table This is the “Curva” series from [AYTM] The shelf in the back is modular furniture from Korea’s THE FRIGG I liked the design of the USM Haller furniture and that was the deciding factor for me to purchase it The top plate is made of clear glass This box is from a lifestyle shop operated by KOKUYO This is a functional cardboard box purchased from [THINK OF THINGS] We use it a lot in our home too I use it to store soil for plants and pet food It can also be filled with water and carried, making it a multi-functional item There are also art books here The yellow tetrapod object I bought it at a vintage shop called SEIN in Yutenji This pot is from the “Lora” series sold by Scheurich, the company behind “Fat Lava” This is a series with many collectors and I purchased it from a German dealer for 35,000 yen The plant is “Begonia maculata” This is a German ashtray from the 1970s that I bought at Graphio/buro-stil I use it when burning sage This is the corner where I display my favorite things This is from the 60’s in Eastern Europe I really like the bright color scheme The walls are covered in light blue wallpaper purchased from Rakuten This is a vintage iron bird ornament Birds appear to fly in the sky So there are a lot of plants like this It gives off an atmosphere of nature Personally, it’s a very relaxing space This plant is called Monstera Deliciosa It grows larger than a normal Monstera and the leaves are also larger It is characterized by a hole on the inside of the cut Next to it is a fern-like plant called “Houbikanju” The copper pots were purchased from a gardening store called Rust in Tachikawa I bought it for about 6000 yen The texture is very good, I like it very much I bought the round mirror on sale at IKEA for about 6,000 yen This ladder is from the UK and was purchased at &VINTAGE From the traces of splattered paint You can see the texture of the product that has been used for a long time There is a food bowl underneath At a metal furniture shop called “MILLS” It was custom ordered I had my dog’s name, “BELL,” engraved on it and purchased it for about 10,000 yen The table was purchased from &VINTAGE, the same store as the ladder It’s from Europe and the stone-paved tabletop is very cute The iron object in the back is a bookend called “Jacks Jax.” It is an object that represents the mid-century The brooms are made by local craftsmen This cabinet is a vintage Danish item I bought it at &VINTAGE for about 50,000 to 60,000 yen The drawer handles are rounded I really like the Scandinavian design Above are some vintage items I’ve lined up some items with a bit of modern elements This is a black ceramic bell Made in Oaxaca, Mexico It became famous when it was used as a doorbell in the Eames’ home, and it is a very precious item This is a collection of works by German photographers “STOFF Nagel” The candle holder is a reproduction from Denmark This is a modular system, so it is connected in several places It is an item that you can enjoy coordinating depending on the combination “LESS IS MORE” means “less is more” These are the words of the architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe I’m a maximalist, so I’m joking “Avoid buying unnecessary items and only buy carefully selected items.” I like these words and put them on display because they make me feel that way ☺︎ Next, let me introduce the dining area Behind the dining room is the bedroom The refrigerator was designed by product designer Naoto Fukasawa It is from [AQUA] I like the futuristic design Since I had a child, I upgraded the specs and got a larger size The table is designed with Dutch designs It is from the [PURO] series I like the modern balance of straight lines and curves There are cloths and small items on the table This glass vase and The small candle stand next to it is from iittala Both were designed by architect Alvar Aalto The design is inspired by Finnish lakes The chair in front This is a shoemaker chair from the brand WERNER Purchased at [ACTUS] The back chair is This is the baby chair “TRIPP TRAPP” from the Nordic brand STOKKE If you adjust it, adults can sit on it too Now I’m using it as a customized baby food chair for my child There is a fake greenery from NITORI in the corner I bought it because I liked the texture of the real thing This is a contemporary artist called Lucita Hurtado This is an exhibition poster Purchased at [SOONER OR LATER] This is a vintage British piece of furniture that we use as a cupboard I liked the glass door and bought it for about 50,000 to 60,000 yen Interior items and fragrances are displayed on top I bought the [CULTI] diffuser at [ACTUS] The lamp is from the 1950s in the US My wife gave it to me for my birthday This poster is Ronan Bouroullec’s “Drawing 5” The frames are custom made to match the art I bought them for about 30,000 yen in total The bedroom is 6 tatami mats in size and has white and beige as the base colors This is a Japanese-style room, so we have to match the furniture I’m using carpet tiles that I bought from Rakuten’s “Kabekore” It was about 20,000 yen for a 6-tatami room The rugs are handmade by Indian artisans I ordered it according to the size of the room The price was around 35,000 to 40,000 yen The bedroom features a design by architect Pierre Jeanneret Stools and Lounge Chairs There is a file rack and a box stool This is an original product made in a workshop that was actually involved in the Chandigarh urban planning project, which pursued functionality and beauty in India The old teak wood from the 1950s is used Handmade rattan woven Lettering is applied I really like it because I can feel the charm of the technology and materials of the time The leather cushion was specially ordered for this chair This is what it looks like when removed These pieces of furniture were very expensive It was a long-cherished wish for me to have “furniture that will last a lifetime.” I decided to purchase I understand that the rack was once used at a university The surrounding area is decorated with objects that evoke a brutalist vibe, featuring unadorned designs that make the most of the texture of the materials The walls are decorated with DIY baking soda art I saw a case where a large abstract painting was combined with a heavy piece of furniture by Pierre Jeanneret I followed that example and made my own ☺︎ The canvas cost me about 10,000 yen Other ingredients were purchased at DAISO I made it for about 11,000 yen in total On the rack are antique vases and European Candle Stands Purchased at the vintage shop Shiroyama in Gunma Decorated with ceramic mushroom objects This candle stand is It’s a vintage item purchased on eBay I bought it for about 25,000 yen In the foreground is a Diptyque candle In the back is a small storage box made by ceramic artist Takashi Suzuki Metal is used, so you can enjoy the changes that occur over time I bought it at an exhibition held by a pottery shop called PROTO in Kuramae This box stool has many handle holes It is convenient to carry around Next, let me introduce you to the area around the bed Blankets and pillowcases are made from Lithuanian linen I ordered the color and size from a local craftsman I bought them for about 30,000 yen in total The pillowcases are colored in a gradation The pillowcases and blankets in the second row are color-matched The side table is from IKEA’s “BURVIK” The lighting is “YPPERLIG”, a collaboration between IKEA and HAY A white display stand next to the bed These two displays are homemade Materials are purchased at a home improvement store All three were made for about 20,000 yen The wood is assembled and then painted I applied some parts thickly to create texture Above is what I bought at [shiroyama] I have a lamp from the 1950s I also like this brutalist design The top is
