【ネタバレ】わたしの夫と結婚して【感動をありがとう】Amazon Prime Video/ #佐藤健 #小芝風花 #takerusatoh
The final episode of “Marry My Husband,” exclusively on Amazon Prime, has aired. “Are you okay?” “Yes, I’m fine.” When you love someone, lose them, lose your own life, and then get a second chance, can you truly risk your life for that person? And what if that person never realizes you risked your life for them? “Are you okay?” “Yes, I’m fine.” “Am I dead?” How many people can truly live their lives to the fullest without any regrets? How many people are ever given such a chance? “This taxi, you see, can go anywhere.” “Where would you like to go, customer?” I believe this is one of the most precious scenes in this series. Allow me to talk about it for a bit. Your host is Shusaku. “To heaven?” “Or do you have some lingering regrets?” In this series, I especially love the taxi driver’s father. What is your ideal father figure like? Is he a strong person? Is he rich? Does he hold a high position at work? More than anything, does he shower you with love? And I think these two have a major commonality. “I have many regrets.” “Oh? Like what?” Suzuki Wataru is a man who has everything. He has money, status, good looks, and intelligence. But even someone like him has regrets. “I realized what was important too late, and I couldn’t protect her.” To suddenly lose someone you hold dear. I’ve experienced that myself. They died in an accident, and even if there was nothing I could have done, I still wonder, “Why couldn’t I protect them then?” Because of that experience, I watched this series with a deep emotional investment. “Then this time, don’t take the wrong road.” “Here, hold out your hand.” “See!” His words, “Then this time, don’t take the wrong road,” were probably the strongest he had ever spoken. But right after, he smiled cheerfully and gave him a huge amount of candy. So much candy it was overflowing from his hands. “A 3 o’clock snack.” “Driver, back in college…” This father has such a strong personality, a truly unforgettable character. How should I put it, sorry to go off on a tangent, but it feels like he’s found a new toy. What do you think? ^^ “Kobe-san’s…” “Thank you so much for coming to visit Toyama.” Ah, I thought, “This is it.” He wasn’t simply given a second chance. The man, Suzuki Wataru, had already shown his sincerity and character. That’s why he earned a second chance. “Now it’s my turn to show you the way.” “Come on, hold on tight!” “I’m sorry!” Watching this scene again, something occurs to me. Suzuki Wataru, played by Sato Takeru, went back ten years in time. Was he planning to confess his feelings this time? At work, he is strictly Manager Suzuki, not even in Kobe’s field of vision. His top priority is to protect Kobe’s life. He devises a plan to use the ten years he got back to protect her life. But then, something unexpected happened. Kobe herself was also living her second life, with so-called memories of the future. So she begins to correct her past mistakes. And that is why the two of them happened to meet in the elevator. “My dream came true.” “My dream came true.” The path that Suzuki Wataru chose was to protect the person he holds dear. It really comes down to that. It was his top priority, something more important to him than his own life. “I have no regrets about my second life.” A second life requires a substitute. If that’s the case, he will sacrifice his own life for her. His resolve never wavers for a moment. To love and be loved by someone so much that you can think that way. “Manager, you don’t understand anything.” “You’re a nuisance.” Then, something unexpected happened. Manager Suzuki’s goal is to save her life. However, through their chance encounter, Suzuki Wataru also ended up teaching her what it means to live. In my last video, I delved into this in my own way, but… Dignity, believing in yourself, having hope, and taking the steering wheel of your own life. He conveyed that sentiment. With his sister’s help, he gives Kobe the push she needs. Kobe herself changes her makeup and starts buying clothes she likes. She becomes more confident in herself and more hopeful. So what was the biggest thing she gained from all this? “Because…” “I need you in my second life.” Kobe Misa, who was once so passive, thought in her second life, “I don’t want to die. I want to change my life. I want to get away from these people.” Since it was her second life, she must have intended to cherish it, but before she knew it, she had found someone more important than her own life. “Not to be saved, not to be protected,” “I want to walk alongside you.” Can loving someone and being loved change a person this much? For Manager Suzuki, Kobe is more important than himself. He has protected her with overflowing love. He’s willing to risk his own life for her. But the person he feels this way about just told him she wants to walk with him. “I’m sure there’s a way to make it work.” “We won’t be destroyed by those two.” “Even a cruel fate and a terrible life can be changed. Let’s believe that.” Through her tears, Kobe conveys her feelings directly. “Because,” “You’re the one who taught me that, Manager.” Thinking back, when Kobe first cried in front of Manager Suzuki, she unleashed the heartbreaking feelings she held in her heart. When you were a child, the moment you put a sweet snack in your mouth, you could believe everything would be alright, couldn’t you? Kobe has grown so much. At this moment, she seems to have a maternal quality, almost as if she were admonishing her own child. “That we are happy.” “I love you.” Kobe Misa had come to love someone this deeply. As we live day by day, for decades, how precious it is to meet someone you can face and honestly say, “I love you.” At that moment, I thought, Manager Suzuki must have been under immense pressure. His intense desire to protect her, to save her life at all costs, may have been pushing him into a corner. “Let’s live, together.” I was just… “Wow,” at that moment. I wondered why I had such a strong reaction, but from the very beginning of this series, it was always Manager Suzuki leading the way. In everything. He was the one planning, thinking about how to protect Kobe, how he would sacrifice his life for her. But at the very end, Kobe had grown so much that she could unleash her emotions and say, “I love you so much, so I want you to live with me, I want to walk with you.” Kobe, who once seemed trapped in her shell, was now expressing her feelings, conveying them as she held him. I think he was moved by her beautiful growth. This series used a lot of bird’s-eye view shots. Those shots from above were all beautiful and impressive. Finally, the fateful day arrived: September 18, 2025. “What are you studying in college again?” “How many times are you going to ask that?” “No, I remembered the word ‘bioscience’!” I got excited hearing the word ‘bioscience.’ When biotechnology, nanotechnology, and AI combine to surpass the human brain, the singularity will arrive… but that’s a topic for another time. “You think it’s a pipe dream?” “I think it’s typical of you, Wataru-san.” Yes! (Cue the “first-name basis” alarms!) I’m sure you were all thinking the same thing I was. She finally calls him by his first name. And I get the sense that the two of them probably switch between polite and casual language depending on the situation. “It’s been too long a break.” There was a lot to love in this series, and one of them was the wagashi, the Japanese sweets. The portrayal of Japanese sweets was really fantastic. It was great branding, and I’m sure anyone overseas watching this will want to try Japanese sweets. I was born and raised in Okinawa, so I’m around Japanese sweets less than many of you, but there are still so many elegant and delicious ones. If you have any recommendations for Japanese sweets, please let me know. “I’m rooting for you.” “Misa, too.” “Huh?” “Do whatever you want. Anything.” Yes! (There it is again!) Everyone thought the same thing. He started calling her Misa. “I’ll always be on your side.” Dad, thank you!!! “Have I gone soft?” What a beautiful view. It seems they chose this place for a day that’s important to both of them. “Thanks to you.” “September 18, 2025.” “The day my first life ended.” How brutal their first life was… it was insane. And their second life was just as brutal. “Yes.” “But you’re alive.” It’s only because they had each other that they were able to reach this day. “Today will end,” “And tomorrow will come.” “That’s right.” At this point, I felt that while this day was a goal for both of them, it was also a day that Suzuki Wataru had decided was important for himself, too. “Please marry me.” Woooooow!!! Woooooow!!! “What?” Woooooow!!! No way! While watching this series, I cried at touching scenes, got angry at others, was surprised, and felt a whole range of emotions. But I never expected to be crying with laughter at the end. And in this moment, I realized something. First of all, the title of this work is “Marry My Husband.” For her to be the one to ask, “Please marry me,” “Will you be my husband?” to bring the story to its finale… It signifies that she has been reborn and is now living her own life with her own agency. That’s what’s contained in those final words. She even changed the meaning of the title itself. The first episode began in utter despair. After time-leaping, Misa Kobe was, in a sense, acting to protect her own life. But then she met Manager Suzuki, learned dignity, gained confidence and hope, and in the end, her growth even changed Manager Suzuki’s feelings. She grabs hold of Manager Suzuki’s fate, embraces it, and changes it. This story begins, they overcome so much, and it ends with “Will you be my husband?” We started watching this story, became engrossed each week, and perhaps we were watching all along just to hear those words at the finale. Now that it’s over, I feel a sense of loss. But we have witnessed so many different scenes. We were moved, hurt, surprised… We saw a way of life. Dignity, confidence, hope, and taking the steering wheel of your own life. Those keywords should be in our hearts now. I’m sure many different scenes are coming to mind. That’s what I took from this work: the hope that people can change. Many people carry wounds, trauma, painful memories, or are suffering right now, but this work showed us how to change that, even at the risk of one’s life. That will stay in our hearts, and it might just give us a push when we need it. It’s, how should I put it… maybe it’s like a piece of candy. Maybe, in a fleeting moment of your daily life, it will help you believe that you are happy. It was a great series! What did you think of the show? If you’d like, let me know in the comments. This series had many other wonderful scenes. I hope to talk about them another time. Well, it’s about time to say goodbye. If you enjoyed watching this, had fun, or want to see the next one, please! Be sure to like and subscribe. Your host was Shusaku. See you next time! Thank you.
