Emergency at Shamir Medical Center –urgent Need for Protected ER
[Music] At 3:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13th, a world changed as missiles flew towards Israel. Shamir Medical Center entered a state of emergency. We moved all our patients, starting with the most vulnerable patients, ICU, surgery, maternity into our underground facility. Within 48 hours, we treated over 100 wounded civilians. For the first time, we activated all three of our underground operating rooms. Our teams are working around the clock under fire to save lives. But the truth is that our current underground facility is just a temporary solution. We must build a new fully protected emergency and surgical center designed for the new reality. On the night of June 13th, Shamir Medical Center entered emergency mode. More than 300 patients were evacuated underground, over 100 wounded civilians were treated within 48 hours, and all 3 underground ORs were activated – all under fire.
