中古の軽バンで日本一周、初めての長距離カーフェリーで快適に移動するつもりが…

Hey guys, it’s Yuuka! Today, I’m finally back on my trip around Japan! Yayyy! So, Papa Clipper came back from customization the other day, and I ended up driving straight to Kobe Port today! Getting here was such a drive… totally exhausting. Anyway, today’s a first for me— I’m gonna try getting on a ferry with my car! Alrighty, off I go! Just parked the car and now heading over to check in for the ferry. Apparently you need the vehicle registration, so I brought it just in case. They use it to confirm the car’s size and stuff. By the way, Papa Clipper’s size falls into the smallest category—under 4 meters. Lowkey feels like a loss… But hey, at least it’s cheaper! It’s my first time boarding a ferry with a car so I’m kinda nervous. Hope I don’t mess it up. I can see the ferry now! It’s the Ferry Rokko from Miyazaki Car Ferry. *Checking in at the counter now. *They’ll check your car type and size using the registration. Check-in is done! They gave me this QR code paper and a room keycard, so now I’ll hop back in the car and get ready to board the ferry! Ughhh I’m nervous… I’m finally boarding a ferry with my car… it’s like a dream! Heart is pounding! Alright, let’s get this little van on the boat! Alright, here we go! The staff is there guiding me the whole way, so there’s really no way to get lost. Gahhh I’m so nervous… *I’m so flustered I’m basically turning into a cartoon character. But if I look too nervous… they’ll totally think I’m a complete newbie. So I’m gonna act like a pro! Just gonna put on my “I do this all the time” face. I thought boarding with a car would be way harder, but it’s actually super chill! Everyone’s guiding you step-by-step, so just follow instructions and you’re good! Totally beginner-friendly, even for someone like me. It took me like 8 hours to drive all the way here. That was a pretty intense drive. But now I’m here at Kobe Port, and from here— the ferry will take me all the way to Miyazaki. That ride takes 13 hours, so it’s gonna be even longer. But honestly, I just did a 40-hour ferry recently, so this doesn’t feel that long anymore. Still, 13 hours is no joke! *I’ve taken so many long ferries that my sense of time is broken. We leave at 7pm tonight and arrive at 8am tomorrow. So basically, I’ll just sleep and wake up in Miyazaki! I feel like it’ll only *feel* like 5 hours or something. Overnight ferries are honestly the best. Super grateful for that. I’m surrounded by these massive trucks… and here’s my tiny van. Hope they don’t look down on me… Time to stand tall and act tough. *It’s finally the moment of truth. *The staff is giving me directions right now. Okay, let’s do this! Can I pull this off…? But seriously, so many staff are guiding me—it’s a lifesaver. Can I make it? Tight turn ahead… Suzuki steps up— and nails the curve with flawless precision! No one in front of me… I’m in first place! Uh-oh, blue shell incoming! Wait, this is not the time for that— Whoa that scared me! That was terrifying… the steering wheel just froze for a sec. This guidance really helps a lot. *They even tell you exactly where to park—super helpful. I made it to the spot safely! Phew, thank goodness. I was seriously so nervous. But the staff was everywhere, so it went pretty smoothly. Huge thanks to them! *Eternally grateful to my ferry heroes. Here’s my boarding pass and keycard. Guess I don’t need the registration paper anymore? I’ll just leave it up here for now. Alrighty, time to board the ferry! Parked safe and sound! They even put chocks on the wheels— so yeah, no moving from here! Okay, see ya later car—I’ll be back in 13 hours! Let’s meet again when we’re in Miyazaki! Look look, there’s the Jumbo Ferry Aoi! I’ve actually been curious about that one too. But nope, not cheating today— I’m sticking with the Miyazaki Car Ferry. Just boarded the Ferry Rokko! Here’s what the vibe looks like. I’ll give you a full tour later on! For now, I’ve got some bags to carry— so I’m gonna head to my room first. I’m up on the 4th floor now, and my room is F4107— right here! Let’s go in and check it out. Look at this cute key card! I think that’s a view of Kobe at night? Alrighty—open sesame! The room feels totally different than usual— it’s super refreshing! This First Twin room can only be booked if you’re staying with two people or more, so it comes with two beds! Which one should I sleep on tonight? Maybe my right half on this one, and my left half on the other? lol There’s a little table too. And this drink holder kinda looks like an ashtray? And here’s how the bed area looks— it even comes with a full set of amenities. Across from the bed, there’s a nice-sized TV. There’s also a light next to the bed, and a power outlet! On this side of the bed too, there’s another light, which is awesome. Super handy for nighttime reading or whatever! You can control it while lying down too. Over by the entrance— there’s a bunch of hangers available. And it comes with two bath towels too! Might as well take a bath both at night and in the morning. On this desk over here, there’s an electric kettle and a little tea set too! What’s this? Oh, it’s a mirror! There’s also an information booklet. It has all the hours for stuff on board, so I’ll take a closer look later. What’s this door over here? Maybe it’s a sink? Let’s find out. Nope, it’s the toilet. My bad! There’s also a full-length mirror near the entrance. Yayyy! Since we’re here, let’s check out the amenities too. I wonder what’s inside. Look look— the bag has a Miyazaki Car Ferry print on it! So cute! There’s a toothbrush, a hairbrush, a body towel, and a small hand towel too. And in this other bag… Oooh fluffy slippers! Cozy vibes. I love these! Yayyy~ *Slipper dance time 💃 Oh and there’s pajamas too! They come with striped pajamas—nice! The amenities are pretty solid. Looks like I’ll be comfy here! And now… it’s time to check out the view from the window! What’s it gonna be like? Wow! I can see the Jumbo Ferry! Wait wait, this is so cool! Usually views before departure aren’t that exciting, but— today’s hitting different! Take a look! You can see the ferry and a view of Kobe! There’s even a Ferris wheel over there, I think. You can watch them loading cars onto the Jumbo Ferry too! So that’s the room for tonight! I’m actually getting excited for the next 13 hours. A little nervous about Papa Clipper, though… *Super overprotective car mom But I’m gonna enjoy myself too! We’re about to set sail soon— so I’m gonna head up to the observation deck and see it off. Apparently you can go out through here. Let’s check it out! Is it raining…? Nope! It stopped! Thank goodness. Is it just me or is the Miyazaki Car Ferry kinda huge? It really looks massive in person! Right at 7:10pm, the ferry started moving. Bye-bye, Kobe! It was my first time here, but I’ll totally come back someday. That pretty Ferris wheel over there— is that Meriken Park, maybe? Whoa, look at all that smoke… It’s totally white—like completely. That red and white tower over there— is that the Kobe Port Tower? Wow… I’m literally seeing Kobe from out at sea. It says “KOBE” over there! *The mountain is lit up—it looks amazing! And the sunset is stunning too. Such a beautiful view. I’ve arrived at the restaurant! Apparently it’s a buffet here, and I’m starving, so I’m about to devour everything. It’s $15 per adult. Pretty reasonable—considering we’re on a boat. Look at this bonito poke—it looks amazing! It even has avocado in it! Check it out! They’ve got everything from chicken to BBQ spare ribs! Whoa… this is top-tier stuff. Wait… they have beer too? Uh-oh… I’m really debating whether to go for it. *I almost bought it… but I held back at the last second. Finally got to relax… *?!? Me, already drinking beer on the Ferry Rokko. No wait—this isn’t what it looks like! Apparently, you can only drink beer until 10pm, and you know, I had to do it *before* it was forbidden! So yeah… I kind of chugged it right away. Anyway, let’s eat! The food looks sooo good. Aren’t I good at plating though? This bonito looks insanely tasty. OMG so goooood!! Buffets are the best part of ferry travel, seriously—it’s so much fun. This moment right here is pure joy. Honestly, I thought boarding with a car would be way more stressful. I was sure I’d be freaking out, but surprisingly, everything’s gone super smoothly. I’ve kind of become a pro at boarding on foot— but this was my first time with a car… so yeah, I’m still getting used to it. These spare ribs… are fire! It’s my first time going to Miyazaki! I’m super excited! They say the views are amazing in Miyazaki, and the fruits are supposed to be delicious too. I really wanna eat mangoes! I hope I can find some. And apparently chicken nanban is super famous too, so I wanna try that too! Wow, all I’m thinking about is food… *Currently refueling* Papa Clipper used up a lot of gas getting here, and I totally forgot to fill up earlier. So now his tank is nearly empty, while I’m sitting here all fueled up and ready. I feel kinda bad for him… *A beer was 500 yen, so that means I’m running at about $3.50 a liter.* Isn’t this ferry “Rokko” super clean? Even the sofas look nice. Doesn’t it feel like something you’d find in a shopping mall? Even those seats over there— Totally gives off an “AEON Mall” vibe, right? I wouldn’t be surprised if they had a game arcade in the back. This ferry only started operating in 2022, so it’s still pretty new. It has a sister ship called “Takachiho”— that one launched a bit earlier than Rokko, so I guess Rokko is technically the little sibling. *Only sips between lines* They say Rokko’s interior has more of a calm, grown-up vibe, more chill and relaxed. Takachiho is brighter and more kid-friendly. So Rokko is totally perfect for a mature woman like me. *wink* Today I’m going from Kobe to Miyazaki, and the route goes across the Pacific Ocean. Last time I rode the Tokyo-Kyushu Ferry, it was sooo rocky. So yeah, I’m kinda worried I’ll get seasick today… I hope I’ll be okay. Maybe I should drink a lot before it hits me. *If I’m gonna get dizzy, I’d rather be tipsy than seasick, right?* The skipjack tuna poke was so good— I went back for seconds. Seriously, it’s way too good… Dessert time! Is this… cheesecake? *No joke, I could eat like 50 more of these.* That was delicious—thank you! I’m sooo stuffed… Now I’m gonna take a little walk and explore the ship a bit. Alright, let’s start wandering around from the 3rd floor. Ooh, there’s a shop here! Looks like it’s open until 10pm, so maybe I’ll pop in real quick. They’ve got all sorts of snacks, and souvenirs from Kobe too! That camembert cheesecake looks delicious… Should I get it? They also have original merch from the Ferry Rokko! Oh right—I’ve been collecting ship stamps, but I still don’t have a stamp book… Maybe I should buy one? Wait what?! It’s $15? That’s kinda pricey… *Too expensive, so I bailed for now And of course, they sell alcohol here too. But I mean… buying a whole bottle feels a bit much, so I’ll skip it this time (for real). There’s a vending machine corner right next to it. Ugh, beer’s calling me again… They’ve also got tons of cup noodles, so if I get hungry at night, I’ll be all set. There are plenty of seats around here, and not a lot of people, so it feels super chill. Here’s the layout of the ship— There’s just a 3rd and 4th floor. Most ferries I’ve been on have at least one more floor, so maybe this one’s a bit smaller? Here are the types of rooms onboard: The top one is Premium Class, and I’m staying in First Class, so second-best room! Then there are Single rooms, Dormitory rooms, and Tourist Class rooms too. Right now I’m here on the 3rd floor. Alright, let’s head up to the 4th floor! Everything here is seriously so clean. I guess it’s been open for 3 years? But it really doesn’t feel that old. It still feels brand new, like a freshly built ship. And up ahead on the 4th floor—wait, what the heck?! It’s a game center! Let’s see what kind of prizes they have. A dolphin! Oh wait, that’s Yuuka-chan! *Ran into a viewer on the ship! *I panicked so hard I probably came off super weird ( ∵ )/ Thank you so much! Look look! It’s Shin-chan! So cute… okay maybe I’ll just try once. Alright, just one try! Ugh… wait, which one should I go for? *Decide before you put in the money! Okay, I’ll go for Shiro then (sorry buddy) Nooo I didn’t get it… Okay okay, just *one* more try. *Missing Shiro?! Unacceptable! 😡 But I don’t wanna run out of money before I even get to Miyazaki… So I’ll stop here. Still salty though. Anyway, time to explore the rest of the 4th floor! Found the men’s bath! Where’s the women’s bath, I wonder? Haven’t seen it yet… There’s another vending machine area on the 4th floor too. It’s got pretty much the same stuff as the one on the 3rd floor. Ooh, ice cream spotted! I kinda want it… but I already had dessert. Better not. Found the kids’ area! Looks super fun! It’s like a super modern play space. Looks like you can draw right on the screen. Can I play too? No? Probably not? *Imagine if people found out I was playing in the kids’ corner—yikes There are even two baby rooms here. Great for parents traveling with kids! This area here is the wash-up space. My room didn’t have a sink, so— having this nice shared sink area is super helpful! *There’s also a relaxing spot with an ocean view Since it’s nighttime now, I’m heading back to the observation deck. I wonder if the view’s changed? *Too dark to see anything now… But I can still see some lights in the distance. So I guess we’re not *too* far from land yet. Still, it’s super windy up here! Abort mission!! Found the women’s bath—finally! Can’t film the bath scene, so… Bye for now—off to relax! I just got out of the bath— and it felt sooo good. I stopped by the gift shop on my way back and totally splurged. This is one of those “Goshuin” stamps I’ve been collecting from ferries. Got the one for Ferry Rokko! That makes six so far, I think? Guess I “rokko-ed” it up! *I just really wanted to say that. Also, I bought this one I’ve been eyeing— a Camembert cheesecake from Kobe! I’m sure most people would probably take something like this home as a souvenir… But nope, I just can’t wait. I wanna eat it right now. Wow, this thing is seriously legit! Let’s dig in! It’s got this rich, toasty cheese aroma. But like honestly— even if it’s a souvenir, I’m still the one who eats it. So eating it now or later is the same thing! *Now I’ve made myself feel kinda sad, lol And now… Asahi Super Dry! They have signs everywhere saying alcohol sales end at 10pm. So it’s basically telling me: “Better drink up before 10!” I mean, I’m technically on a no-drinking phase… But if they insist, what can I do? Guess I have no choice, right? Cheers, then! Mmm… so good. Man, private rooms really are the best. I peeked into the shared rest area earlier, and lots of people were already drinking. Some of them were pretty tipsy too! I guess I’ve got to keep up and drink just as much, right? I think the people using the shared lounge are probably in the tourist cabins, not private rooms. There are non-private rooms too, by the way. Oh, and about this room’s price— It’s $300 total: $120×2 for two adults, plus $60 for the car. That adds up to around 48,000 yen. Yikes… that’s pretty steep. But honestly, even if I drove my mini van to Miyazaki, the gas and highway tolls alone would add up quickly… So I guess it balances out in the end. Still, it’s a long way from Kobe to Miyazaki! So I guess this price kinda makes sense. But yeah, it really *is* a long distance trip. If you think of it as paying for peace of mind… Well, I guess it’s still kinda pricey. *Please give this video a like and subscribe to my channel… pretty please… Alright, I’m gonna drink enough to make it worth the cost! I was just looking at the ship guide in my room, and apparently they have free Wi-Fi! You can connect like this—it’s super simple, but there are a few rules. Like, you can’t use it in your room. It only works in shared spaces like the view lounge and such. Also, it’s not available between 10pm and 6am, and during your trip you can only use it 3 times total— each session is just 15 minutes. That’s pretty strict. And yeah, you can’t stream videos or anything either. So basically, I can use it 2 hours after departure and 2 hours before arrival, I guess? *Well, I’m still grateful it exists! It’s 9:30pm right now, so I can still use it if I head to the shared area. But I’m getting normal signal anyway, so it’s not really a problem. We arrive in Miyazaki at 8am tomorrow, and I’ll be filming the Miyazaki edition of my Japan trip! I’m sooo excited for it. I did a little research beforehand— apparently there are places with palm trees and everything! Sounds totally tropical, right? It’s the perfect summer vibe. *Also perfect for summer? Beer. But I’ve got an early start tomorrow— and I’ve gotta drive too, so… I think I’ll stop drinking for tonight. Normally I’d keep sipping slowly through the night though… But I’ll go to bed early so I can be ready for tomorrow’s drive. Alright then, good night! Good night~ Good morning! I tried going out to see the sunrise this morning, but it was too cloudy to see anything. I got frustrated and went back to sleep, lol. The ship’s been rocking quite a bit since yesterday, but I’m actually kind of used to it now. Right now it feels like a 6 out of 10 on the shake scale. So yeah, it’s still moving, but I took some motion sickness meds, so I’m actually feeling fine! It’s currently 7:00 AM. We’re scheduled to arrive at Miyazaki Port right on time at 8:40 this morning. There’s not much time left on this trip, so please enjoy the rest of your time onboard. *The view from my room window is so beautiful, I’m moved…* The breakfast buffet ends at 8:10, so I’m gonna head out and eat before we arrive. Here I am at the breakfast buffet. Milk for breakfast! Cheers! So good. I’m glad I’m a morning milk kind of girl. If I were the beer-for-breakfast type, I’d be in trouble since I have to drive today. Alright then, time to dig in! YUM!! *Sausages really are the breakfast MVP* Oh right, since I’m in a shared area now, maybe I’ll try connecting to the Wi-Fi. Miyazaki Car Ferry Wi-Fi. I did a quick speed test and got this: *Download 44.7Mbps / Upload 10.1Mbps* They said streaming isn’t allowed, but I can still browse Instagram and X just fine. I couldn’t get any signal in my room, but out in the shared areas my phone works surprisingly well. So no issues there! *Mom told me to eat more veggies, so here I go* Once I arrive in Miyazaki, normally I’d look up how to get to the nearest station by bus or train or whatever… but since I have my car, I can jump straight into sightseeing! Although my Papa Clipper’s running low on gas, so first stop will be a gas station. Still, that’s the great thing about having a car. I’m super excited! Driving somewhere new always makes me a bit nervous… but I’m really looking forward to it! *Only the sausage gets a dramatic reaction* Lately I’ve been super into seaweed. Like seasoned seaweed or Korean seaweed— I eat a ton at home. So happy they have it on the ship too! Isn’t seasoned seaweed just the best? SO GOOD By the way, today’s weather in Miyazaki is rainy with clouds later on. Yeah… no way we’re dodging that. Whenever the forecast says “cloudy,” it always ends up pouring. Why does that happen? And on the days I plan to stay in and chill, it’s always super sunny! I seriously have rain girl powers or something. Oh well, let’s make the most of it—rain or shine! Since it’s a buffet, I kinda wanna go back and get seconds… but I wanna save room for yummy food in Miyazaki too! So I guess I’ll stop here. Alright, that was delicious—thank you! Now I’m gonna head back to my room and start packing up. I’ve come up to the observation deck this morning. We’ve got less than an hour till arrival, and I can already see land over there. Can’t believe those 13 hours went by so fast! I’m starting to see buildings now too. It’s my first time in Miyazaki, so I have no idea what’s what—but I’m super excited! Attention passengers: Thank you for being with us for such a long journey. Just ahead, you can now see the Miyazaki Port Ferry Terminal you’ve all been waiting for. We’ll now begin removing the wheel locks that have been securing your vehicles. Please stay in your rooms until we make a further announcement. Thank you so much for sailing with Miyazaki Car Ferry and the Ferry Rokko. We truly appreciate it. Bye-bye, Miyazaki Car Ferry! I’m gonna chill here a bit longer until they announce disembarkation. See you again! Oh no, I’m getting nervous… This is it… real disembarkation! (?) Hope I can get out okay… Alright, got my key ready! Is Papa Clipper here? Is he? Is he? Yes! He’s right in front of me! He’s been waiting like a good boy. I’m coming now! Alright, I’m all set to disembark! I guess I just wait for the car in front to go? No rush—let’s take it slow. *Totally suck at reversing* Thank you, kind ferry staff, for guiding me! This is so fun! *First time driving off a ferry* I’m so happy! After that, I drove a little bit and now I’m at the ferry terminal parking lot. So today, I took the Miyazaki Car Ferry with my little van! And it was seriously great. I usually board on foot, but with a car, I didn’t even have to step outside— just drove right into sightseeing mode! That was honestly such a huge plus. But yeah, bringing the car on board nearly doubled the price, so for one person, it’s kinda pricey… But if you’re traveling with family or friends, I think it’s totally worth it! Anyway, the ferry itself was super fun, and pretty lively too! Everyone was drinking and having a blast, and the restaurant crowd looked like they were having a great time. It was a really cheerful vibe. Next, I’m gonna go explore Miyazaki! So the next video will probably be the Miyazaki edition of my Japan road trip! Hope you’re looking forward to it! Stay tuned! Thanks so much for watching all the way to the end today! If you liked this video, please hit that subscribe button, leave a comment, and give it a like! Bye byeee!
