DSEI JAPAN 2025で改修された最上フリゲート
Hello everyone. We at DSCI 2025 here in Tokyo. are like approximately cha and we are at MHI booth with Yoshu Kasan, senior project manager here at MHI. Yosh Kasan. Hello. Hello. Thank you for coming. Yeah. Well, we are standing behind the new FFM um model which is uh very interesting because it will be the new frigate type for Japan. Well uh Yoshan could you introduce us this frigate in terms of specifications? Uh yes for the this is upgraded moami class is a design is based on former moami class uh length is a little bit 10 m longer and 1 m wider that’s because uh this powerful radar will be installed for the anti-air warfare capabilities. So we do such a modification to the house structure and also but the speed is almost the same. Yes. And what other extra capabilities the new FFM will bring to the JMSDF? That’s because we have a V modules additional one and also fering capabilities is increased and also a powerful radar to acquire the target apart from the Moami class. I see. Um you are going to achieve an impressive production rate uh by delivering uh 12 ships to the JMSDF by 2032. Uh how MHI is able to achieve such impressive rate? Oh, thank you very much. Yes, because for the uh former Moami class, we do two ships every year and this time we are have a sub sub uh subcontractor to Japan Man United to produce one additional one. So we can provide uh two or three ships every year. So in total 12 12 ships in 5 years. Well, and also he had another question concerning the subsystems uh embarking aboard the new FFM. So it will embark like UUV and USV. Could you tell tell us a bit more about that? Oh yes, that capability is almost the same from former Moan class. We have a u USB from uh this uh from a stand side dispatch and recovery from this way a and also we have this uh UUV uh dispatch and recovery from this side. So that is a uh uh capabilities in some u UV and USB uh uh cooperation for the mine hunting capability that almost the same as I see. Well, anyway, thank you very much for your time and that will be it for me, but thank you very much. Thank you. My pleasure always. Yes. Thank you very much.
Update on the Upgraded Mogrami frigate with Atsushi Yoshioka, senior project manager at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) during DSEI Japan 2025.
