The painting you think is good actually looks like this. Through my correction videos, I correct various illustrations to make them look better. This is how the illustration turned out. Surely this looks better, right? If you compare this painting before and after, the impression changes quite dramatically. At first glance, one would think that this would require significant changes to the entire painting. That is completely wrong. I think anyone who has actually watched my editing videos will understand. I’m correcting various pictures. Even if you don’t revise the entire illustration. Correct only some parts, or be aware of only some parts. When you do this, you’ll notice that they have one thing in common – the illustrations will improve dramatically. Of course, you will watch all the correction videos. And it’s best for you to discover these commonalities yourself. But many people say they don’t have the time. So this time, I’ll save everyone’s precious time and focus on the commonalities between God painting. I put together several correction videos all at once. That’s how I ensure that everyone gets the most out of their improvement in a very efficient way. But if you watch this video, you’ll see a lot of great art. So, what should you actually pay attention to in order to be able to draw such beautiful pictures that they can be called God painting? I think you can find that out efficiently. Let’s get started! Color version. The color palette is decided first. First of all, this is a technique that I would recommend to anyone who isn’t good with colors. Before you decide what you want to paint. This is how you first decide what colors you want to use. For example, this illustration. I would like to experience a summer like this too. This is an illustration of a situation so comfortable that it can make you fantasize about such things. However, the person who drew this was concerned about this. The problem was that I didn’t know how to choose colors and the look didn’t come together. In response to this, I made the following corrections: This is what I did. I decided to keep the color palette to purple. I think it’s easier to understand if you put the two pictures side by side. The original work is a tricolor color scheme with striking yellow, green, and blue. Tricolor is a combination of three colors. This tricolor color combination is a favorite among people who are not good with colors. This has the advantage of making a much stronger impact. However, this alone would cause the colors to fight with each other. So in some cases, it can come across as very childish and disorganized. On the other hand, I exclude hats and areas around the face, which I want to look impressive. I decided to stick to similar shades of purple so the colors wouldn’t clash. In broad terms. The yellow of the beach sand has turned blue. That all came together nicely, right? This is a correction video. So after I finished drawing, I combined the colors. In fact, it’s fine to decide on the color first. If you’re not good with color, decide on a color palette of about five colors before you start drawing. Then you create a painting using only those colors. By doing so, I think you will be able to draw pictures easily, beautifully and enjoyably. For example, in this video, “Draw backgrounds easily in 7 steps.” I actually tried to paint it that way. When I go to the bookstore. Such a beautiful color combination idea. It’s actually been compiled into a book. So, you choose a beautiful color combination from this book. Now you can paint using only those colors. That way you don’t have to think about it. You can paint beautiful, cohesive, and attractive pictures. By the way, illustrator EKU UEKURA is also included. Last time I heard from her. She first chooses a combination of about five colors. And then she said she would actually draw the picture from there. I wonder why not everyone does that. This is a highly recommended method that is actually used by amazing artists. The highlights are created using light and shadow. The next feature of God painting that I would like to introduce is the technique of using light and shadow to create highlights. Where is this mainly used? Please look at this illustration. This is a charming illustration with cute expressions and carefully drawn accessories. This is an illustration that the artist was worried about, as he felt like something was missing. Here is the illustration I edited. do you understand? The impression that something was missing, which I had before the corrections, is gone. And after the corrections, I think you can see that it has become more refined. So what did I do? I shone a strong light into the center of the screen. And I’ve let everything else sink into the shadows. It’s a behavior of the human eye. Sometimes your eyes are drawn to the area where light hits. Create a light area that draws the eye. Other shadow areas are less noticeable. There is no need to increase the honey content that much overall. The screen is cohesive and it feels like a good painting. Let’s look at another example. That is the illustration here. This is an illustration of a boy standing by the window with a cat rubbing its cheek against him, creating a pleasant breeze. This is a painting that depicts a very lovely atmosphere. However, in this illustration too, the eye is unnecessarily drawn to the window. This prevented the viewer from directing their gaze to the main boy and cat. So I edited it like this. I made the boy all shadowed to create a strong contrast with the background. This creates a large contrast between the background and the person. So, although it is a shadow, it has the effect of drawing the eye to it and making it easier to see than before. If you put the two illustrations together after corrections, they look like this. The way the highlights are created is different in both cases. One method is to gather a surface of light in the center of the screen and focus the eye there. The other is the opposite, to cast the highlight into shadow and then fill it with light. And how to draw the eye towards the shadows. Both methods are very easy to do. So, please try using it in your own illustrations. Composition edition. He carefully considers the composition of his images, even in addition to those of people. Next, let’s look at some common points between the God painting. That may be hard for some to hear. A distinctive feature of this work is that it carefully considers the composition in areas other than the characters as well. For example, look at this illustration. When I was a kid, I used to shoot flames and generate energy bodies from my hands. I would say things like, accept this or die. I really hoped that I could do that too. I was never able to make that wish come true. But I still love looking at these kinds of illustrations. However, there is one thing that bothers me. This means that the wonderful flames have been relegated to a supporting role. Perhaps the artist of this painting painted the figures first. And I think the artist added the flames later, to the side, so as not to obscure the figure. That would end up feeling like an afterthought. So, I edited it like this. I put out flames all over. I also created a composition that includes not only people but also flames. Indeed, before the corrections, there was nothing crossing the front of the screen. So the person itself may be easier to see. Even if the flames cross in front of the person, the composition should be considered while treating the person and the flames as equals. You’ll find that this results in a more cohesive and realistic illustration. Let’s look at another example. This is the illustration. What I’m saying now is to think about structures other than people, right? You might think that this illustration depicts nothing but people. Sorry, that’s certainly true. But in this case, that’s what I wanted to say. This is due to the composition of the face, hands and arms. The sense of dynamism in the illustration changes instantly. Let’s take a look at the illustration after corrections. The color hasn’t changed much either. This is despite the fact that no movement was added through effects or anything like that. Do you think the characters seem more lively after the corrections? The reason for this is the way her hands and arms fit into the screen. Before the corrections, her entire arms formed a triangle with a stable base. So, there was inevitably a heavy nuance at the bottom. By making it into a triangle tilted slightly to the side like this. This allowed her to disrupt the stability of the base of the triangle and bring movement to her hands. This is certainly true for people and faces. If possible, try to include elements other than people in the composition. Then, rather than adding it on later, consider the screen composition taking this into account. I believe that by doing so, you will be able to aim for a higher level of illustration. This may be a difficult part for those who are not used to drawing. Once you get used to it, I would definitely encourage you to give it a try. It excludes all elements except those that are necessary. Next, I will introduce some points about the God painting. That means eliminating everything except what is necessary. This may be difficult to convey through words alone. Let’s take a look at an example. For example, look at this illustration. The author was a high school student at the time. I even feel jealous of how talented this artist is at this point. From my perspective, I apologize for nitpicking this painting. I was curious about the leaves in the background. I think the main features of this piece are these beautiful blue butterflies and the Butterfly Queen who rules over them. So I was intrigued by the green of these leaves that were added to add space. So I edited it like this. I only did this in blue. I thought that this piece would look much more mysterious and cool if it was composed entirely of blue. So I removed all the green parts except for the absolutely necessary blue. I understand the author’s feelings. When you’re making things. You can’t help but feel anxious that you should add something more, fill it up with something. So you want to put something in the empty space. But there’s no need to do that. I think the same is true for cooking. When I order a hamburger, I’m satisfied as long as it comes on a piping hot plate. However, I would not like it if frozen green peas or something similar were placed on top, as if to fill the space next to it. If the main dish is appealing, then that alone is enough. Let’s look at some other examples. The design here is very different, but the same thing can be said. Yes, this is it. This is a character with a very relaxed expression. However, even in this illustration, large areas of greenery in the background, the sea, and the concrete ground are depicted to fill in the gaps. This makes it difficult to see the subject of the illustration. By the way, this illustration was created on the theme of the transience of life. So, if we look at this illustration from the perspective of what parts of it might represent the transience of life. The cat and the eaten fish are the necessary parts. And I don’t see much else being needed. So I edited it like this. I drew a cat who is still hungry no matter how much fish he eats. Also, I drew a fish just waiting its turn to be eaten. Other than that, I tried to avoid both the sea and the land as much as possible. I only configure what is necessary. By doing this, your eyes will inevitably be drawn only to the subject of the painting. So why did the artist create this illustration? In this way, the viewer becomes interested for the first time in what the artist is trying to say. Line drawing edition. The lines serve a role that is more than just lines. Finally, let me introduce some characteristics of the God painting. That is, the lines play a role that is more than just lines. I’m being pretty advanced here. What if you could do this? I think you can already call yourself a professional. The original illustration is here. This is a work by the very popular voice actress AOI YUKI. Even in this condition, the quality was very high. So I thought hard about what parts of it I could correct. So, that turned out to be a session where I did some super ultra advanced editing. I edited it like this. Can you see where I edited it? I don’t think you’d understand if you looked at this painting from a distance. So I’m going to expand the character a little bit. For example, the lines of her hair, her paws, and the ruffles around her neck. You can see that it’s not a black line but a thinner one. This is called color tracing. This is a technique that makes the line color blend with the surrounding colors by making it lighter. When asked why color tracing makes things look better. I think there are few people who can answer that question properly. The reason, simply put, is that color tracing makes lines appear as shadows. For example, one easy to understand example is to look at the lines of her hair. The black line, in this case a dark brown. I think that in its original dark brown state, the lines just looked like lines. But by tracing the color here, it will blend in with the color of her hair. And it feels like the step in this line has become smaller. And don’t you feel the change in texture to something smoother when you stroke her hair? This one. This is the moment when the line becomes more than just a line. I actually think that this is a feeling that is very easy to understand for anyone who has ever applied thick paint. I explain the process in detail in the video “Is that all? Easily apply thick paint with these steps.” One way to apply thick paint is to first draw a line and then paint over it so that it blends in with the surrounding colors. This process involves making what was previously just a line blend into the surrounding colors. This is a drawing technique that creates shadows using lines. This is achieved with clearly drawn lines. That kind of powerful technique is called color tracing. So, in a sense, color tracing is like applying paint thickly. It depends on whether you really understand the purpose of doing this color tracing or not. Even if you trace the same colors, there will be a big difference in the results. If you are going to do color tracing, please use this. Try doing this with the goal of making what was previously just a line look like a shadow. I believe your illustrations will become several times more attractive and God painting. That’s what I wanted to convey today. What did you think?
