Gratitude not because I did not appreciate him before but hindsight as it says 2020 gives you fresh perspective and uh I truly realize that I had an exceptional father. I only hope that in the course of his life I let him know how much he was appreciated. He took parenting seriously. He was parenting was not just was not a chore for him. He delighted in being a father. He did not deny his children any good thing. In fact, he was the more indulgent parent. Those who remember my mother know that she was a spare the ro and spoil the child type of mother. So she accused him a number of times where but he just said leave me alone. I don’t think he fought us. Somehow he was able to find a medium giving us what we wanted, giving us firm guidance. But like my sister said, he created an atmosphere where we were allowed to express ourselves, be ourselves, choose our own path with his guidance, their guidance. So I was of when I got married to my darling wife I found out that he was the go-to person by his siblings for so many things in Mr. of George and so that forced me to go into account so much that my father-in-law I’ll come down from [Music] upstairs when you have problems and helping prizes so the people will shout again. Oh, those were fun times. Thank you for creating an atmosphere with mommy at home where we as your children were free to express our views. We were never guarded. You allowed us to be ourselves with the right values of course on and on. You know my dad was the best. He really was. He allowed us to be who we were created to be. He was not perfect like no one else is. But I am truly truly grateful and proud to be the daughter of Henry Omu Ga Apata. It was the best. Really was the best. Thank you everyone. Go man. I grew up child and they told me I was so confident about myself. I love to eat a lot but I was also a very grateful child. Uncle was a very unique person when we were young in Agodi made used to go around the place and look into some things and we wonder what he was looking for but he would bring a frog catch a frog and start dissecting the frog and um it was in it was at King’s College then I that is when I and I knew that he’ll be a doctor. So when they qualified went to Germany and came back, I was so glad and inspired me. I did not read medicine, I read dentistry uh but all because he had the very great influence on me. But one thing he did for me I’ll never forget was that when I got married or no during my introduction um my father sent my [Music] uncle Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Laughter] [Music] [Music] It’s almost still difficult to believe how good is gone. I think in the past couple of months it’s almost been total disorientation of the mind, body and spirit. and just walk into today to the extent that I also missed the memo that nephews should be in white. But since I always want to believe that I was special to uncle, I’ll be different. I really feel honored and privileged to be giving this tribute as one of the nephews to uncle Dr. Omora. You know, for us in the Aquata family, unclea is the last of the fourth generation of our branch. She was closer to most of us especially university last year or so. Our fourth generation was actually made up of outstanding scholars, professionals in law, media, top civil servants and overall outstanding sportsmen. I’m going to be reading out um, excerpts from my tribute to my dad and it will come in the form of a letter to him. My daddy still can’t believe you’re gone. don’t even know where to start. You are an amazing dad. Your life revolved around your family. You were the one who pampered us. It was Kingsway and the dentist every Saturday that was our routine. You made sure we were safe and well prepared for. We lacked for nothing. Mommy never let us forget how blessed we were to have a father like you. And she was right. I remember telling I remember you telling us about your days at King’s College. We were so proud of your school. It was too funny. I remember learning to not a tie and learning your school song. And I’ll be reading from verse 50 to 58. 8 I declare to you brothers and sisters that flesh and blood reveal this to you. Blood of the perishable nor of the perishable must clothe itself with imperishable and the mortal with immortality. When the when the perishable has been clothed with imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the the saying that is written will come true. Death has been swallowed up in victory where O death is your sting. The sting of death is in sin and the power of sin is in the law. For thanks be to God, he gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 57 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord because you know that your labor in the Lord [Music]
