Yasuke, also known as the “African Samurai,” was a historical figure who lived during the late 16th century in Japan. He was an African warrior who served as a retainer and bodyguard to Oda Nobunaga, a powerful feudal lord in Japan. While there are some accounts of Yasuke’s time in Japan, much of his life remains shrouded in mystery and subject to historical speculation.
